The room we stayed in at this hotel was extremely unappealing, with limited natural light and a faulty air conditioner. Furthermore, there were a lack of amenities like a fridge, iron and coffee/tea pot, making for an overall unsatisfactory experience. Even though the location was good, there were other better hotels at the same price, leading us to check out early and struggle to receive a partial refund.
We chose this hotel due to its location ?, and it sure didn't disappoint ?! The room had a nice vibe, but unfortunately there was a strange smell coming from the bathroom ?. No curtains in the bathroom either, so the light from the street made it hard to sleep ?. They claimed to have soundproofing, but we still heard our neighbours room ?. A few things were missing, like a kettle, toilet brush and some bathroom hooks, as well as a window curtain in the bathroom ?♀️. On the plus side, the place had high ceilings ?. All-in-all, great location but a few minor tweaks could have made it perfect ?.

This hotel in Barcelona was in a great location, however it was quite noisy. The walls were extremely thin and there was a lot of noise coming from the corridor. Additionally, there was constant banging from outside due to building work. The hotel was very basic with no extras and no tea/coffee facilities nor water available. The shower had powerful water but kept switching between hot and cold without warning. There were also some strange gurgling noises from the bathroom. I stayed alone in the room and I must say, I didn't feel very secure since anyone off the street could have access to the lifts going up to the guest rooms. All in all, I wouldn't stay here again given the lack of security and the basic nature of the hotel.
For a short stay in Barcelona, it is an excellent choice - right in the heart of the Ramblas, in easy reach of the metro. Though you can't get to it by car, on foot it's a breeze! The room was nicely clean and spacious, with plenty of room to move around ?. It's also close to lots of great attractions, so you don't have to worry about traveling far ?. All in all, a great stay ?.
The May Ramblas Hotel was great. The location was perfect, right in the heart of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter; steps away from La Rambla and minutes from the Cathedral. The staff were very helpful and friendly and their English was extremely good. Our room was cleaned daily and when we had a late flight we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel. The only thing I would say is that the hotel did not provide tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms, or any vending machines, but otherwise it was a pleasant stay. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a place to lay their head and explore the city.
