Mosaic Barcelona by Ona

During our travels along the Camino Ignaciano, we decided to spend a night at the Mosaic Barcelona by Ona Hotel. We arrived early in the day and were pleasantly surprised that they were able to store our luggage for us. The location was great - there were plenty of restaurants nearby and it was within walking distance to many historic sites. However, we visited on the National Day of Spain, so most shops were closed. This didn't bother us since we're not big shoppers anyways. The staff were very helpful and even booked a taxi for us in the morning, reminding us that it's best to pre-arrange one. Our room was on the interior, but despite its small size, it was comfortable for our short stay. Overall, we had a pleasant experience at this hotel.

We were disapointed with our room as we payed extra for a balconey room assumimg it was at the fron but we got a balconey at the back overloocking a building site with builders starrring in....also there wern't any draws and only smalll space for haning cloths...not good for a 4 night stay...also no drink making faciltiies...only palce you could get a drink was from maschine on roof terrase...but this was switched off most of the time....Good locaton but qutie a basic htoel...Clen and quite modern...good bed...tarrace nice to sit on in the evening.

What a wonderful oasis of calm and tranquility in the heart of Quadrat D’Or in Barcelona and in a spectacular setting on Rambla de Catalunya. The architecture and design is beautiful and the interior smells lovely! I had the chance to spend some time in the incredible roof terrace, where I could relax after a day exploring the city or the beach before getting ready for the night. The rooms were far bigger and more elegant than I expected. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms nice. The light shafts between rooms meant that there were no neighbours and the staff and other guests were genuinely all lovely. The lift had a glass wall, so that you could see the height of the building and admire the pretty light fittings as you travelled between floors. The staircase was a thing of beauty and made the building feel very grand. This is by far my best experience in Barcelona, despite having been to the city since I was 14 years old. The nearby bakery provided a great option for breakfast and the restaurants in the centre of the street were full of people either taking a walk or simply having a chat. I want to return to Barcelona just for this hotel! A true gem.

Be careful!!! Your luggage and belongings are not safe here. My husband and I are simply in shock both from the loss of our valuable things and the experience of indifference from the staff. We left our bag in the hotel's custody and it was subsequently stolen. It became clear that there are major problems in the management structure, the lack of security cameras, the lack of a dedicated luggage storage area and, even worse, the unprofessional staff that have damaged the reputation of the hotel. The staff here do not care about the safety of customers' possessions. My luggage, which contained my clothes, wallet and jewelry, is now gone. I was in tears. Instead of offering an apology, the hotel receptionist told me that it was normal for Barcelona and it was my own fault for having valuables. She didn't even want to bother the manager until we had a police report. It's been a month since the incident, yet we are still not offered any compensation.

The room was alright but it was incredibly noisy with construction going on outside from 8am until late in the night. The noise was so loud that the room was shaking from all the drilling. It was impossible to relax and get any peace due to this and the early morning wake-up call. Guests weren't able to enjoy any outdoor time as they had to keep the windows closed all day to try and block out some of the noise. It made for a very unpleasant stay and it was particularly disappointing that the hotel hadn't informed us ahead of time. For anyone looking to get away, it's best to look elsewhere for the coming months as this type of disruption doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon.
