Radisson Blu 1882 Hotel, Barcelona Sagrada Familia

This hotel in Barcelona offers a fantastic roof top terrace with pool, a delicious breakfast and friendly staff. Additionally, they provide complimentary bikes to explore the city, which is a great way to experience the sights.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Radisson Blu 1882 Hotel, Barcelona Sagrada Familia, for 4 nights at the end of our cruise. We had built up a significant amount of Radisson points and chose this hotel to use them. We could not have been happier with our selection! The hotel's location is fantastic. It's close to the iconic Sagrada Familia, as well as Passeig de Gracia and other popular restaurants in the area, and taxi services are always available if needed. Upon arrival, we were offered early check-in and an upgraded room with a nominal cash copay. Our room was clean, modern, and had great views of the adjoining streets. Nespresso coffee makers, daily water, and a min-bar with high prices (which we didn't use) were all provided. As for breakfast, we chose to visit nearby bakeries in the mornings before adventuring off for the day. The Radisson also features a magnificent rooftop bar with stunning views of the area. We relaxed in the Bar Bobo off the lobby most evenings, where we found Lagunitas IPA, a craft beer that we had missed. We even had light dinners there on two occasions. Our stay was thoroughly enjoyable and this hotel made for the perfect base to explore Barcelona!

Upon entering the room I was shocked to see a bunch of long hair on the floor of the shower place, making it clear that the housekeeping had not been up to par. To add to the disappointment, my personal belongings on the desk had been swept from an organised manner to a mess, with my liquid items even being spilt. To add to this, security measures were only applied to the hand soap, shampoo and shower gel, with no key card access to the elevators, potentially allowing strangers to access the room floors. Furthermore, infrastructure was of a low quality, allowing the sounds of neighbours in the corridor to be heard clearly from the bed. The water leakage from the closed-door shower was also a big issue. As for the breakfast buffet, it was extremely limited and with no changes to the items over the consecutive days of stay. In addition, the already-made “hot dishes” were lukewarm or cold. All in all, the room was small and not worth the USD300 I paid for it, especially with its inconvenient location. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We booked an amazing 4-day stay for my partner's 30thbirthday. We both adored it! After taking in some sights, we spent two afternoons relaxing in the gorgeous pool area and sipping delicious drinks. The helpful staff made sure we were well taken care of. We also loved taking in the stunning views of Sagrada Familia over sunset drinks on the rooftop terrace. The accommodations were spotless and very comfortable. We had an outstanding experience from beginning to end, and should we ever return to Barcelona, we'd be delighted to stay here again!

This hotel was an ideal choice for our vacation. It was modern and quirky, plus it had a perfect location for the Sagrada Familia. We were also close to plenty of restaurants and situated in a quiet residential area. What's more, the Gruell Parc was only a 30 minute walk away, making it a great spot for exploring the upper side of Barcelona.
