During our recent trip to Barcelona, we had an unpleasant experience at the hotel we stayed at. The room we were given upon arrival at 9pm did not live up to the pictures we had seen online. Not only was it outdated and dirty, but it was also incredibly small. In fact, the bedding got caught in the door due to lack of space. Additionally, the room had a strong smell of weed. We immediately reported our dissatisfaction to the reception staff and requested to be moved to a room that matched our expectations. However, we were informed that the hotel was fully booked and they were unable to accommodate our request. It was only after we demanded a full refund that they agreed to switch our room the next morning.

The next day, when we went to the reception to move to our new room, a different staff member told us that we could only get the room we originally booked if we paid an extra charge as it was a premium room. This was never mentioned on the website or by the previous night's staff. We were disappointed and once again requested a full refund. As a compromise, the staff showed us a larger room that was still outdated. The bed was flimsy and too small for my 5ft 6 frame. Moreover, the air conditioning was not working in either of the rooms, making it uncomfortably hot. The bathroom was also unclean and we found a toenail and a wood louse. The shower had extreme temperature fluctuations, making it difficult to use. The thin walls made it impossible to have a peaceful night's sleep as we could hear everything from the neighboring rooms and even feel the vibrations when they used their doors. The strong smell of weed and smoke in the rooms and corridors added to our discomfort.

The hotel offered us a complimentary breakfast for one morning, but it was nothing more than basic and overpriced at 18€ per person. The only positive aspect of our stay was the hotel's location. However, overall, it was the worst hotel experience we have had.

The rooms and bathrooms were quite small, suitable for individuals of smaller stature. The hotel is conveniently located near popular attractions. Unfortunately, we were not made aware of the option to rent bicycles or offered the opportunity to upgrade to a larger room for an extra cost. Overall, the service at this hotel was disappointing and deserving of just one star.

Located in the heart of Barcelona, this hotel provides a convenient base for exploring the city on foot. Surrounded by a variety of dining and entertainment options, it is a great choice for those looking to immerse themselves in the local scene. My room, while on the smaller side and overlooking an inner courtyard as expected, was still satisfactory. However, for a supposed four-star hotel, it fell short in terms of noise insulation - I could hear everything happening in the hallway and neighboring rooms. The staff were pleasant and efficient, and the common areas were well-maintained. I did not have the chance to use the pool or have breakfast, as there were plenty of charming cafés nearby. The room rate of 140 euros per night (during my stay in October) was one of the most affordable options I found, but for its quality, it seemed on the higher end compared to other European destinations.

This hotel provided a great stay! The standard room was clean and had a cozy bed. Breakfast was decent with a good selection. Just outside the hotel is a cafe with delicious tapas and a rooftop pool with towels provided. Unfortunately, sun beds weren't as comfortable as you'd hope, but you can bring in your own snacks and beverages. I would definitely consider returning!

This 4 star hotel was acceptable. The rooms weren't great at blocking out noise, as I could hear snoring coming from the room next door. The room itself seemed a bit outdated, but it wasn't disgusting or hazardous. The bathroom was surprisingly excellent, with hot water always at the ready. The air conditioning functioned very well. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try the breakfast but the staff were very friendly and many of them spoke good English. The location was great, I was able to get to the main attractions on foot.
