I booked a standard double room at rack rate for one night. Unfortunately, the room was nowhere near what was depicted on the hotel's website. It appeared as if the room had not been refurbished since the 80s and was in need of maintenance. The bathroom fittings were rusty and the marble was full of marks. The furnishings and bed linen were of a very low quality. Furthermore, at 3am, someone was throwing construction material from high floors, making it impossible to sleep, and the room phone didn't work. Additionally, I received no reply from the hotel when I wrote to them. I strongly believe that there are many better options in Barcelona for much less money and they should be considered instead. Avoid this place; it is far too expensive, of sub-standard quality, and the photos on the website are highly misleading.
I recently stayed in a hotel located outside the city centre, and while it looked like a great deal with a rooftop bar and pool, the reality wasn't quite so great ?. The top two floors were inaccessible due to noisome and noisy renovation works, which we weren't informed of beforehand. The room was ok for the price but suffered from cracked tiles and difficult-to-operate shower. We weren't particularly pleased with our stay and complained about it when we left, only to be told to contact an email. Breakfast was alright but the reception staff weren't particularly useful; when asked about a taxi, they just pointed outside ?. All in all, I wouldn't stay there again! ?♀️ The only positive thing I can say is that the restaurant staff were friendly. ?
The staff at this particular hotel are very friendly and helpful, and all the rooms, common areas and terrace areas were immaculately kept. Rooms were on the basic side but were maintained daily. There was an amazing roof top pool as well as ongoing construction work which still added to the charm. For breakfast, there was a great selection of food and drink! Nearby restaurants, bars and shops were within walking distance. An extra €40 fee was due upon arrival, whilst check out was set at 12:30 with a late check out available until 4pm with an extra fee of €10 per hour.
The Expo Hotel Barcelona had a disappointing stay for me. Though the reception area was modern and check-in was quick with friendly staff, the room was a major letdown. It was bland, devoid of any artwork or chairs on the balcony, and felt more like a 2 star room. The bathroom was not much better with only hot or cold water options for the shower. Unfortunately, the walls were paper thin and I could hear everything coming from the rooms around me. Breakfast buffet was decent but disappointingly all the hot items were cold. Overall, the hotel was hugely disappointing and not worth the money. I would not recommend this hotel and will not be back.
The services provided at Expo Hotel Barcelona were abysmal. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable, the bedlinens were cheap, and the room was so noisy - you could hear everything from outside as well as from the room next to you. Despite the website claiming that the room was soundproof, it was not. When I called reception for a cotton and slippers, I was told to go down and get it for myself - only to find out that slippers were not provided. To end the terrible experience, the aircon needed to be replaced. All in all, I felt like I had checked in to a hostel!
