The Grand Hotel Central, Small Luxury Hotels was a fantastic experience from beginning to end! Our room was exquisite, with every amenity a traveler could want. The front desk staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout our stay. The housekeeper did an outstanding job, keeping the room pristine and providing everything we needed. When we had a chance to explore the city, we even took the hotel's electric bikes out for an exciting 20-mile adventure. We will definitely be back to stay at the Grand Hotel Central on our next trip to Barcelona!
We came here for a surprise birthday celebration and were blown away by the hospitality. We had intended to just stay for drinks, but the atmosphere was so great we chose to stay for dinner and enjoy a selection of tapas dishes. The drinks were amazing and the bottle of wine we had was superb. I highly recommend this establishment for both drinks and food to anyone visiting Barcelona and the staff are amazing. We cannot wait to come back!
We had previously stayed at the Grand Hotel Central, Small Luxury Hotels in Barcelona in 2022, and absolutely loved it. The restaurants, the bar, the location, the staff, and the fantastic rooftop pool were a big draw for us, so we decided to come back for a long weekend break. However, upon checking in, we were informed that we would only be able to enjoy the pool for 2 hours a day. Although we understood the need for this due to sun lounger availability, it was hugely disappointing to find this out after we had already made the booking. This information should have been communicated at the time of booking, as that was the main purpose of our relaxing getaway - to be able to spend some time in the sunshine. We felt that it was unfair to have to plan our pool visits in advance when that was not what we expected when we made our reservation. Not only were we impacted by this, but we witnessed many other guests having heated exchanges with the staff over similar issues. Everything else about the hotel was perfect and the Bistro Helene was a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, being unable to enjoy the pool as much as we'd anticipated means that we won't be returning in the future.
My boyfriend and I visited in July and were very impressed with the exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. We were offered drinks on arrival and our bags were taken upstairs for us. The room was comfortable and spotless, with a fully stocked mini fridge. We weren't sure if the fridge was complimentary so we opted to not touch the contents, but it had a good selection. The front desk staff were courteous each day and always greeted us with smiles and friendly conversation when we entered and left the hotel. They were happy to answer our questions, and suggested we book the pool as it is often busy. We ended up using the pool on two separate occasions without booking, and it was very easy to get in. The atmosphere was great and the pool and views from the roof were stunning. We ordered a cocktail, but unfortunately didn't enjoy it as it was too strong and the drinks on the roof were quite pricey. Although, one would expect that from a five star hotel. There was no pressure to eat or drink when we were at the rooftop. The staff were very friendly when we were leaving and allowed us to store our luggage as our flight was later on; plus, they gave us full access to the facilities even after we checked out. We were even able to use the changing rooms and showers and could still use the pool, despite having checked out. There was always security at the front of the hotel which made us feel secure and welcomed. The staff truly made this hotelworthy of its 5 star status, as they were professional, kind and showed us special treatment. We would definitely stay here again if we returned to Barcelona.
This place provided an amazing stay! The location was perfect for exploring this incredible city - within walking distance of the major attractions. Breakfast was great and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The rooftop bar/pool gave us the perfect place to relax after a long day. Highly recommend!
