Hotel Barcelona Center

We had a great time staying in this hotel. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The location was perfect for us, in the centre of the city. The rooftop bar was great, with delicious food and excellent cocktails. Our stay was brief, one night before a cruise, but we really enjoyed it. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Our room had high ceilings and big windows with double panes for noise and heat insulation. We had a wonderful stay here.

If I could give a rating lower than zero, I would. We arrived after a horrendous 42 hours of travel due to medical emergency, delays and missed flights. Upon checking in, the staff member was rude and disinterested. We explored the city for the first two days of our trip without incident. On the third day, we noticed lines on the television, which we took pictures of. We thought the hotel was aware of the issue, however, this was our biggest mistake. Upon departure we were hit with a $1200AUD charge from our account, without explanation. When we contacted the hotel for an explanation, they stated that we had to pay for the broken TV. We emailed them with photos proving that the issue was present before we arrived, with no response. We tried calling but got hung up on by the same rude staff member. It was clear that they were taking advantage of international travellers by fraudulently taking our money. We spent hours trying to dispute the charge with our bank, which is still being investigated. We are disgusted by the lack of empathy or help from both the hotel and booking.com. We hope that our bank can dispute this fraudulent charge.

I had a less than perfect time in Barcelona, to say the least! After a great visit to the city, my daughter and I were part of a group of 11 people who stayed at a certain hotel. Three days after checking out, I was charged an outrageous amount of 719 euros for a broken television that was not in my room, nor did it belong to me! Upon calling the hotel, they claimed that my card was used as a security guarantee for the whole group, of which I was neither the leader nor responsible for. I quickly disputed the charge with my bank and sent an email to the hotel to demand an immediate refund, yet received no response. I'm now awaiting the legal team of my bank to sort this out.

Our adventure to Spain began with a lovely boutique hotel located within walking distance of most of the cities attractions. I'm writing this review at the end of our trip (June 11- July 4) and this hotel set the standard by which I've judged our other lodgings. Barcelona has a lot of amazing places to see and I wish I'd taken pictures; it was a contemporary reflection of this historic city!.

This accommodation had an excellent location. Our room was immaculate and very roomy. The housekeeping staff was outstanding. The receptionists were very accommodating and provided great advice on where to go for meals. Breakfast was abundant but the options were quite repetitive throughout the stay. We would definitely come back!
