This Hotel El Palace Barcelona was an amazing experience! The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the decor was quite elegant. Even though the grand piano in the lobby wasn't used much during my stay, I could appreciate the beauty and quiet it provided. The rooftop restaurant was the highlight of the stay; although, I think the ambiance could be improved to make the most of the stunning views. The swimming pool was a lovely addition, but I think it could be improved if it were combined with the seating area for a more seamless atmosphere.
It was an incredible stay. The team at the hotel was professional, warm, and welcoming. Not to mention the delightful cuisine at the rooftop restaurant. The accommodations were both spacious and stylish. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel during our trip to Barcelona. Right from the moment we arrived, we felt as though we were in safe and comfortable hands. The staff at the front desk and the bellhop attendants were wonderfully friendly, and our room was well-outfitted with luxurious features. The concierge was also very helpful and full of thoughtful ideas. Last but not least, be sure to enjoy a meal at the rooftop restaurant for an amazing vista and experience. All in all, our stay was an extraordinary and unforgettable event.
I first read about this hotel in Conde Nast Traveller’s Gold list, as one of the editors’ All-Time Favourite Hotels. Thinking we would end our trip with a splurge, I had created high expectations when booking it. Unfortunately, my expectations were not fulfilled. I don’t think the editors have stayed there recently. In the city of Gaudi, this hotel just seemed like a gaudy Marriott Courtyard. All that it has in common with a palace is that it’s old and falling apart. Our ‘Classic’ room had stains on the carpet, stains and broken bathroom tiles, and dead flowers in the window box. The rooftop courtyard was tired and old, with a tiny pool, and an unimpressive view. The breakfast garden featured peeling paint, heat lamps everywhere (in July) and a tent set up with hundreds of coffee cups. All for the low, low price of €500/night. This was hardly the luxurious, elegant, and charming experience proclaimed on the website. I feel cheated, lied to, and upset that we ended our holiday by staying there. Please don’t make the same mistake I did.….
If you're in Barcelona, there's no better place to stay! Great service, amazing people, delicious food, prime location and stunning rooms. ????? I highly recommend it!
