This hotel has a charming, historic feel and is situated in a fantastic location. It is conveniently located near a metro station and just off La Rambla. While it is also next to the Opera House, it is important to note that it borders a less desirable area. As long as guests stay away from the western part of La Rambla, there should not be any issues.
Unfortunately, it seems that the hotel is not properly maintaining the rooms. During our stay, it was apparent that the room was starting to show its age. The wallpaper was torn and there was a piece of the closet hanging off. Additionally, the material on the back of the bed was falling apart. However, upon arrival, we discovered that the safe was not functioning properly. Thankfully, the staff promptly replaced it. The room itself was rather small and lacked comfortable seating, with only a chair at a small desk.
One thing to be aware of is the step leading up to the toilet, which can be dangerous at night. It would have been beneficial to have a small light, especially for using the mirror. The WIFI was also disappointing during our stay and the front desk staff was initially unhelpful. After some discussion, it was determined that the router on our floor was not positioned well, resulting in poor reception. However, we must commend the technician who was quick to resolve the issue once called into action by the front desk. Despite this experience, we cannot speak for the WIFI quality on other floors. Overall, we appreciated the technician's responsiveness and friendly demeanor.

My experience at this hotel was top-notch! The staff was always ? and the location couldn't be any better. The rooms were spacious and cozy, perfect for ?. I would definitely suggest staying here if you're visiting Barcelona. Oh, and the rooftop pool and terrace bar were the icing on the cake ?. Plus, it's close to all the necessities!
We stayed at the Hotel España Ramblas in Barcelona and were welcomed with warmth. Though we had to wait until 3 to get the room, we could leave our baggage and explore the city, including the rooftop bar. Several restaurants and cafes were within short walking distance. Our room view was blocked off by frosted windows, yet we did get to enjoy the beautiful courtyard entrance. Also, the grand marbled staircase with original mosaic inlays and the dining room walls with mosaic and wooden lattice work at the base gave a unique charm to the hotel. The breakfast had a wide variety of food, from pastries and meats to eggs cooked to order. The coffee, tea, and cold drinks selection was quite good as well. We had a very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend this unique hotel.
