During our trip to Barcelona for a match with my son, we opted to stay at a hotel in a prime location. The hotel's vicinity to 2 Metro stations and a short 200m distance from Las Ramblas was perfect for exploring the city. We were warmly greeted by the friendly staff who even managed to accommodate an early check-in for us. The breakfast spread was delicious and offered a variety of fresh options. Our room was spacious and impeccably clean, with a fantastic shower and a charming street-facing balcony. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel for its convenient location and excellent amenities.
As a tourist in Barcelona, we were anticipating a higher level of quality from our hotel experience. The front desk employees were exceptionally kind and accommodating. However, the accommodations were lacking. The layout of the rooms was confusing and reminiscent of a maze. The condition of our bathroom was subpar as evident by the ripped out fixtures and an overall lack of cleanliness. To top it off, there was a continuous unpleasant smell coming from the drains in our room.
I am currently staying at a hotel in Barcelona and I must say, I am rather disappointed with the reception. They were not very supportive and outright rejected all of our requests, claiming to be fully booked. However, I couldn't help but notice other guests being accommodated with their room preferences. Despite arriving at 11:30 am, Emilio from the reception did not fulfill any of my wishes, including a high floor room or one with a balcony. It is hard to believe that all of their rooms were already checked in at that time. I was expecting better customer service, but unfortunately, all we received were simple "no's.
The staff showed a lack of understanding in customer service, exhibiting extreme impoliteness. When my mother requested a room change during check-in, they responded with a terrible attitude. This behavior could be considered discrimination, as they also refused to assist her in moving her luggage to the new room, despite her being an elderly lady. When I tried to speak to the front desk about the situation, they repeatedly disconnected the call. The reservations manager also spoke to me in a disrespectful manner when I attempted to reach out through my mother's phone. It is concerning how they treat tourists looking for a pleasant stay. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone, as their actions come across as racist.
The hotel's location was ideal, within walking distance to Las Rambla. Our room was spacious with two single beds placed together. The breakfast was satisfactory and the staff was welcoming. However, our experience was somewhat dampened by the half-covered shower glass, which resulted in a constantly wet bathroom floor that posed a safety hazard. We also noticed that the walls were quite thin, as we could easily hear our neighbors' conversations as if they were in our own room. Additionally, the doors were quite noisy, causing disturbances when other guests were entering or leaving their rooms.
