The good: The Location is perfect and the Customer Service is outstanding. Most of the hotel has been refurbished to a high standard, with a Roof Top Pool, Sun Deck & Bar that are very welcoming. Beds are comfortable and you'll have plenty of hot water in the shower. The not so good: Traveling as two couples, one couple had a nicely refurbished room, while the other didn't. The unrefurbished room was tired, with broken windows and ill fitting curtains. Avoid these rooms and this hotel is truly fabulous. Unfortunately, my wife and I had the unrefurbished room, leaving us slightly disappointed.
We booked two rooms for a week-long stay - one for my twin 13 year old daughters and one for my husband and I. Although we had booked in advance and specifically requested that the girls' room be near ours, their room was far away and had no window, making it very stuffy. The room we stayed in had one of the two sinks stuck and it wasn't fixed during our stay, even after we had asked. The breakfast was a disappointment, and the staff were anything but friendly (with the exception of the receptionist). Despite all this, the hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the city, so if you're looking for basic, no-frills accommodation, this is probably a good choice.
I'm struggling to find any faults with this accommodation. It's incredibly centrally located, which really maximized our sightseeing opportunities. Not only is it spotless, but each room has a coffee maker, fridge, and even a small balcony! On top of all this, the hotel boasts a gorgeous rooftop pool and bar, where we spent our evenings relaxing in the sun and sipping on cava and beers - a great way to unwind after a long day. The breakfast buffet offers plenty of delicious options to choose from, and the staff are beyond helpful and accommodating. Definitely worth checking out!
Stayed at the Hotel Lleó for 3 nights during a city break and I can say with certainty that it did not disappoint. It’s really well located with La Rambla less than 5 minutes away and a 30-40 minute walk to some of Barcelona's iconic attractions such as Montjuic, the port/beach and the Sagrada Familia. The room was clean and comfortable and the bed was quite hard however after asking at reception, housekeeping added a couple of extra blankets to make it more comfortable. The rooftop pool and bar was definitely a highlight as it had amazing views of Barcelona's skyline. Overall I would stay here again if I came back to Barcelona.
We had the pleasure of staying in room 603 at Hotel Lleó and it was a great experience. The room was large, spotlessly clean and the bed was so comfortable. The location was perfect, it was quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The breakfast had lots of variety and the food was okay, although the hot food could have been warmer. All in all, it's a great hotel and an ideal spot to explore La Rambla.
