We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything was immaculate and the design was minimalist yet very practical. The staff at the front desk were exceptionally warm and accommodating. The hotel's central location in La Ramblas was perfect, as we were surrounded by countless options for dining, shopping, and sightseeing. We couldn't have asked for a better base for exploring Barcelona.

I was quite surprised by the supposed 4+ star rating of this hotel on Trip Advisor. Despite claiming to be a 5-star establishment, it would only receive a 3-star rating if it were located a few blocks away from The Ramblas. I unfortunately wasted 140,000 points for a 2 night stay here. When I arrived for check-in at 2:45PM yesterday, I was informed that there were no available rooms and to come back at the official check-in time of 3:00PM. This seemed absurd to me as there were apparently no rooms available at 2:45PM but suddenly all rooms would be ready in just 15 minutes. It's hard to believe that such a statement would be used by "factually professional" management. It made me question if this hotel even has competent on-site management. Eventually, I was given a room at 3:45PM, 45 minutes after the official check-in time, and there were still other guests waiting. As a Bonvoy member, I was hoping for an upgrade, but it never happened. The room we were given was not at all what was described at check-in. On the second day of our stay at 4:30PM, our room still had not been cleaned and the lobby was filled with disgruntled guests waiting to check-in yet again. It felt like being at an airport when flights are cancelled or overbooked. Clearly, this hotel lacks solid, experienced, and professional management. At 3:30PM, a half hour after the official check-in time, we were told, "The room HAS BEEN cleaned, but Housekeeping has not RELEASED the room yet for assignment, so we cannot check guests in." It's hard to imagine that the front desk is prohibited from checking in guests even though the rooms are ready to be occupied. Has management even considered having housekeeping release the rooms as they are cleaned, to avoid guests waiting in the lobby? Is this process too difficult for them to comprehend? Furthermore, the quality of housekeeping was not up to 5-star standards as evidenced by the attached photos showing dirty bathroom floors and accumulated dirt in the corners and around the sink. The lobby is also far from 5-star quality, raising the question of who in Marriott Senior Management has the authority or audacity to approve this falsely advertised 5-star claim. The bar and/or restaurant resembled a sports bar in a US suburb with dirty tables left uncleared, among many other shortcomings. While the staff we encountered were courteous and eager to help, it's clear that the issues plaguing this hotel stem from poor or non-existent management. I can't help but wonder if the problems are due to a reduced staff or just a complete lack of management. Staying here again at the end of my trip is completely out of the question. There are far better options across Barcelona.

? Perfect location, although ? facing the lively Las Ramblas ? can be a tad loud at night. But the real gem ? is the nearby restaurant, Bar lobo ? (not your typical ? tourist spot)! Food and prices are on point ? and the patio setting ? adds to the great vibe. The ? friendly staff and elegant property ? made our stay unforgettable! Everything we needed was within reach ? and we would definitely return, especially for ?️ cruise convenience.

This hotel was a great choice for our first visit to Barcelona. The location on La Rambla was perfect, allowing us to easily walk to popular attractions and restaurants. The hotel also has its own restaurant and a small café in the lobby, making it convenient to grab a quick meal or coffee. We had an enjoyable stay from Oct 11th to 14th in room 512. I want to give a special thanks to Coni at the front desk - she truly embodies the hospitality of this establishment. She was incredibly helpful in providing us with information and setting up tours, including a private tour of La Sagrada Familia with Xavier, who was incredibly knowledgeable. I highly recommend asking for his tour! I also want to mention Federica at the front desk for her excellent restaurant recommendations, and the doormen for their assistance in getting taxis. Our room was well-appointed, although the shower/tub combination may be challenging for those with mobility issues. My only suggestion to the hotel would be to consider replacing the tubs with walk-in showers for easier accessibility. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this hotel to others.

Despite being over our budget, we chose to stay at this hotel for a special birthday celebration after being lured in by the impressive photos and description. The exterior and lobby exuded elegance and charm, and the staff were mostly pleasant and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was a delicious start to our days of sightseeing, and the central location made it easy to explore the Gothic Quarter. However, our room (a Premium Deluxe) did not live up to the standards portrayed on the website. It was lacking in natural light and overlooked a less-than-appealing alley with trash cans and residential balconies just a stone's throw away. This meant keeping the curtains closed for the duration of our stay. On top of that, the room was incredibly noisy - we could hear doors closing not only next to us, but down the hall and on the floors above and below. It seemed as though we were situated above the kitchen, as we were consistently woken up at 5:30 am by the sounds of doors closing, conversations, and work. The closet was also disappointingly small, with only enough space to hang about 5 items. The bathroom, while large, had a bizarre layout with the toilet awkwardly wedged between a wall and the sink countertop. Sitting on the toilet required a 30-degree turn, akin to being squeezed between two large people in a coach seat on an airplane. Despite our request for a different room, we were informed that none were available. Overall, we have stayed in much more affordable and comfortable hotels elsewhere.
