This was my third time staying at this hotel and unfortunately, it was a bit underwhelming compared to my previous two stays which were excellent. While the beds were still comfortable and the breakfast was very good, I couldn't help but feel that at this price point, it should have been excellent. The location was convenient and our room had a nice view of the city. However, the cleaning service was not up to par as our room was not cleaned on the second day and it was only average on our other days. I also noticed some scratches on the floor, a water leak in the shower, and the closet was quite dusty, which is not what I would expect from a five-star hotel. I hope that my next visit will be better, but I am not sure if I will be returning.
Avoid this hotel at all costs. Firstly, the location is not ideal. The moment you step outside, you'll be greeted by graffiti and there's nothing of interest within walking distance. I ended up spending a lot on cabs just to get around. The hotel itself is far from luxurious. The lobby, in particular, doesn't give off a 5-star vibe. My sister stayed at a nearby hotel called Majestic and it was a thousand times better. Rumor has it that this hotel mainly caters to bus travelers. All the popular tourist spots are quite a distance away. This establishment should definitely not be classified as a 5-star hotel. If you truly want a luxurious experience, do not book your stay here. Trust me when I say the Majestic Hotel with its magnificent marble interiors is a much better option.
During our recent trip to Barcelona, my partner and I decided to treat ourselves to a luxurious hotel experience. Unfortunately, the service at the hotel did not match the high level of luxury we were expecting. Despite being upgraded to a suite, we were disappointed by the lack of attention and care given to us as paying guests. The concierge failed to assist us in reserving a restaurant we had requested, and we received no feedback or follow-up from them. Additionally, the turndown service was not provided on three of the four days we stayed, and our room was only cleaned after 4pm on Sunday, despite us requesting it twice. This level of service is simply unacceptable for a hotel that charges over 500,00 a night. Needless to say, this will be our first and last stay at this hotel.
This hotel was conveniently located near the train station, although it required a taxi or metro ride to reach the city center. The restaurant and rooftop bar offered stunning views and the rooftop pool, while small and chilly, was a nice addition. Our room had nice decor, but unfortunately we encountered a large bug before going to bed. We contacted the staff for assistance, but by the time they arrived, the bug could not be found. This made our children fearful and delayed our bedtime until 1am. The staff apologized, claiming it was an isolated incident, but other reviews on Tripadvisor suggest otherwise. Additionally, my daughter found an unidentified pill next to her bed, which was unsettling and should have been taken care of by housekeeping prior to our arrival.
During my stay in Barcelona, I encountered some challenges with the hotel staff. I had booked through a promotional offer that included the possibility of a room upgrade, but even though a higher room was available, the staff member I spoke to decided not to grant me the upgrade. Additionally, I found that room service trays were left outside of rooms for over 24 hours and the room itself was infested with bugs. This was definitely my worst experience with a hotel.
