Occidental Atenea Mar - Adults Only

The accommodation here is quite small compared to the high cost, the windows don't open to allow fresh air in, and the pool area isn't great either. There's a lot of noise from the large residential area adjacent to the hotel filled with children playing. All in all, a very disappointing experience. A four-star rating is a joke! I'd rate it two stars at best. The staff were pleasant though. It may be fine for business travel but would not recommend it for a holiday.

This hotel offers a great breakfast and a lovely rooftop pool. It's located near the beach, though a bit removed from the main area. We decided to rent bikes and this allowed us to visit plenty of quieter restaurants and beach bars in the vicinity. The main disappointment for us was the customer service - when we checked in for our wedding anniversary, we had booked a superior room with a king size bed, but we were given a disability room with two twin beds instead. We asked to be moved, but reception told us the hotel was full and they could do nothing until the next day. On that day, we were given a king size bed by pushing the two beds together. We were not offered an alternative room. We did receive a bottle of cava in our room to mark the anniversary, but no apology or compensation was given for not getting the room we had booked.

Decent hotel. Poor handling by the staff. Felt like they tried to play me by telling me they couldn't find my belongings in the room. After returning to the hotel I found my items in the room. I had to pay for two additional trips from the airport and back. When I confronted them about potentially lying or not searching thoroughly enough, their response wasn't very friendly. In particular, one of the security staff members doesn't seem like they should be working in hospitality.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights at the end of April and it was fantastic. Checking in at 2am was smooth and hassle-free due to the 24hr reception. We upgraded to a Junior Suite and it was well worth the €30 per night extra - the room was HUGE with a fantastic sea view! Room 1208 is a must-book! The only meal we had was breakfast on the last day, which was €18 on the day or €16 on check in. The range of items was amazing, even including champagne. The hotel was right on the beach and within 10-15 minutes on foot of everything you need. We used the metro (Selva de Mar) to get to the major parts of Barcelona, and 5 minutes from that was the Diagonal Mar Shopping centre. On our final day, we ventured to the Olympic Port, which had some lovely restaurants. Barcelona was beautiful and we did some great things, such as visiting the Nou Camp, taking a city bus tour, going on a cable car, and shopping. We also used a company called Talixo for our taxi transfers to and from the hotel - absolutely brilliant service and highly recommended. Enjoy!

The hospitality at this hotel was outstanding! ? The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. ? The pool and bar area were very nice, and the location was ideal. ? We were close to transportation, shopping, and restaurants. ☺️ The only downside was that breakfast was quite pricey, so we chose to eat out. ? All in all, it was an amazing stay! ?
