My stay at the Occidental Atenea Mar - Adults Only Hotel in Barcelona was far from ideal. On check-in, it took almost an hour due to confusion over the rooms and the request to have the double bed separated went unanswered during our stay. Furthermore, the bathroom tap had barely any pressure and made it difficult to even clean my teeth in the bath. There were also long waits for the lifts to arrive. On check-out, there was even more confusion around the outstanding balance that had already been paid at check-in. Furthermore, I was refused breakfast on the first day, even though it had already been paid for. I had to go back to reception who then told the person at the breakfast front desk to let me in. Although I had a great stay in Barcelona, I would not recommend staying at this hotel as I believe it should only be a three-star, not a four-star.
I absolutely loved staying at the Occidental Atenea Mar - Adults Only Hotel in Barcelona. The location was amazing, right by the beach, and the pool and bar had incredible views of the water. The staff was really friendly and accommodating, and the hotel itself had everything we could have needed. Additionally, there were lots of restaurants nearby for when we got hungry. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great hotel in Barcelona.
We stayed at the Occidental Atenea Mar - Adults Only Hotel for a week. The location is ideal, right near the beach and with a wonderful pool deck that opens at 9am, although the pool itself doesn't open until 10am. We were welcomed with a complimentary bottle of water on the first day but unfortunately nothing after that. There was minor construction taking place outside our window, meaning we had to keep the blinds closed most of the time so that the workers wouldn't see us. Despite this minor issue, the hotel is clean, convenient and close to a range of restaurants, including the highly recommended le modernista. Overall, I would certainly stay again.

We had an awesome stay at this hotel ? After coming across it on Instagram, we were a little unsure but were quickly put at ease by the friendly staff at reception ? We were early for check-in, but our room was ready! The room was immaculate ? and the bed was massive and so comfy ? Plenty of amenities in the bathroom ? and fresh towels every day ?. Breakfast was amazing, with so much to choose from ?, and the staff were really helpful! The hotel had great location too, just a couple of minutes away from the beach ?, 10 minutes from the metro ? and lots of restaurants and shops around ?️. We had a fantastic time and can't wait to go back️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This hotel was conveniently situated near the sea, and just a few steps away was a gorgeous waterfront. The rooms weren't spacious, but they were comfortable and hygienic. I was pleased that the drinking water was refilled every day, and the room was cleaned daily as well.
