⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great location for exploring ? Rooms were clean and comfortable ?? Helpful and friendly staff ? Minibar included, but limited to ??? Didn't get to try the restaurants, but plenty of ? options nearby!

During my recent trip to the vibrant city of Barcelona, I had the opportunity to stay at a hotel for 6 nights. I was looking forward to experiencing the renowned hospitality of this brand, but unfortunately, my expectations were not met. The staff at the frontdesk, specifically Johanna and the manager Steve, did not provide the level of service I had hoped for. However, the location of the hotel was excellent and I was impressed by the friendly and attentive breakfast staff and housekeeping.

On my arrival, I was greeted by a strong smell of cigarette in my room. Thankfully, the hotel used an ozone machine to eliminate the odor. Unfortunately, on the day before my scheduled check out, Johanna questioned why I had not yet checked out. This led to a misunderstanding as she believed I was supposed to leave that day, but after checking my reservation, she realized her mistake. As a result of this error, my room was not cleaned as promised. The hotel did offer me Marriott points as compensation, but it did not make up for the inconvenience.

To add to the disappointment, upon checking my bill, I noticed a charge for an unused spa treatment. I was surprised as the hotel does not have a spa and instead outsources the services. It seems that the frontdesk staff receive a commission for each treatment booked, which I find concerning. When I brought this to the attention of the manager, Steve, he informed me that the cancellation policy was clearly stated on the menu. However, I was not informed of any cancellation fee when I called to cancel. Despite promising to contact the third party company to make an exception, I still ended up paying for a treatment I did not receive. It felt as though the staff were more concerned with earning commissions rather than providing a true Marriott experience for guests.

The following day, I requested a wake-up call, but was disappointed to find that the frontdesk staff had forgotten to make the call. This level of service is not what I would expect from a five-star Marriott hotel. Overall, my stay at this hotel did not meet the standard I had hoped for and the frontdesk staff's focus on commission rather than customer experience was disappointing.

The location of this hotel was excellent and our room was quite comfortable. The front desk staff were very friendly and the breakfast options were good. However, our experience was marred by the lack of attention from the cleaning staff. Despite being gone for 6 hours on the first day, our room was not serviced, leaving us with dirty glasses, tea cups, and no replacement water. The next day, though the cleaning staff did work on the room, there were still dirty glasses and tea cups. It was disappointing to have to request clean glasses from the front desk, especially considering the supposed 5-star rating.

We absolutly adored this hotle and would defiantely come back. The locashun (walkable to shoppimg and sevral Gaudi attractons), the room, the amazin brekfast (absolutley huuge and included) and the exepshonally frendly hotel staf - all get an A grade.

The Renaissance Barcelona Hotel truly exceeded my expectations. The staff were not only professional, but also incredibly friendly, making me feel right at home. The rooms were impeccably clean and nicely decorated, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The food at the hotel was delicious and the customer service was top-notch. During my 3-day stay for a work conference, I was blown away by the exceptional service provided. Unfortunately, I had to leave a day early due to a medical situation, but the staff went above and beyond by giving me a small gift and a heartfelt Speedy Recovery note. I was deeply touched by this gesture and it only solidified my desire to return to this fantastic hotel. I cannot recommend the Renaissance Barcelona enough.
