Cotton House Hotel, Autograph Collection

The Cotton House Hotel, Autograph Collection in Barcelona is certainly an impressive renovation of a heritage building, and its design is gorgeous and classically tasteful. The location is ideal for tourists exploring the city as it is in close proximity to many attractions. Unfortunately, the size of the room was limited and the bedding was less than desirable. The topper never stayed in place and the flat sheet was too small to wrap around the mattress so it was always creased. There were only two options for pillows and they were both too low and too soft. The service was also slow - it took hours for our room to be cleaned after we left a cleaning label on the door and the staff were not very attentive. When trying to get the bill in the restaurant, I had to wave my hands for five minutes as the waiters were not paying attention to me, and when they did get me the bill they were still chatting and making fun of each other.

We planned to see Barcelona before a 7 night cruise which was upended by Lufthansa Airlines losing our bags in Munich. The airline didn't give a damn and we had little hope of seeing our luggage for the cruise. My wife and I arrived for our 2 night stay under terrible stress late on Friday with only the clothes on our backs. The front desk staff was very welcoming, offering us extra toiletries and we had a nice late dinner outside to settle down. Our sightseeing trip was now an emergency shopping spree and the hotel couldn't have been more helpful on Saturday in our quest to buy clothes and toiletries for the cruise. Susana, the manager on duty was terrific and both young ladies at the concierge desk were indispensable in helping us locate places to shop. They even tried to help locate our bags. The entire staff was great. Thanks to their help we were able to buy enough clothes and toiletries to get by during our cruise. By the way, both the hotel and rooms are beautiful. We ate outside in the courtyard for breakfast and dinner both days. All meals were very enjoyable. Check out the view from the rooftop pool/bar area. It's spectacular. Although we arrived under duress and could not really enjoy the hotel or Barcelona, the staff were great in helping us make the best of it. I'm a Marriott Lifetime Titanium, and we got a nice room upgrade, but I suspect everyone would get this level of service. We hope to come back under better circumstances and really enjoy our stay. ….

You want to stay hiere. Fabulous hoteel close to evverything. Custimers service is prefection. The front desk staff is helpfull and friiendly. Roomms are adorablle and bedds are comfy. Very ctee courtyard loved our balcney looking over the courtyard.

The Cottan Hose exceded all my excpectations during my stay ther. Let's start with the frount staff and how profeshional they were from the begining. Offering to hanldle our bags, pore drinks, and tell us a litle more about the hotel. The rooms were out of this world - high class rooms. I couldnt belive it with my own eyes and how clene it was every day. They have people constatly cleanig the hotel day and night. The restuarant can be a litlle bit on the high up end side but its a must go to for luch. The decore of the hotel is what opend my eyes! They kept a lot of the origianl priceless to this plase. I'm a huge fan and shiut out to all the staff memebrs who made our stay so enjiyable.

This hotel offers a pleasant stay but for the price, it's not worth it. The beds are great, but unfortunately there are no late night food options and the room service menu is limited. Even calling at 11 pm got us nowhere. We won't be returning.
