Caution: The reviews and images may be misleading. Our recent hotel experience was not what we expected, and definitely not worth the price. Despite booking a 4-night stay, we were warned by our taxi driver about the high-crime neighborhood surrounding the hotel, just off Las Ramblas. The area was filled with graffiti and overall unclean. The hotel lobby looked quite outdated and in need of an update. The room appeared spacious in the online photos, but in reality, it was only about 10'x11' with a disappointing view of other buildings. To put it into perspective, a typical walk-in closet was larger than this room. The bathroom was tiny, and the door would hit the toilet when opened, making it challenging to use. The bed was uncomfortably firm, causing me to wake up with a backache every hour. The pillows were of low quality, not providing much support. The only positive aspect was that the room seemed clean. However, there were no washcloths provided, and the towels were old and stiff. The room lacked basic necessities such as bottled water, a coffee/tea maker, cups, and a mini-fridge. Additionally, there were no English TV channels available. The hotel's rooftop pool was another disappointment, depicted as much larger in photos than it actually was. It was only 3' wide and 12' long, with a depth of 12 inches. The photo appeared wider due to a glass edge, which is quite deceptive. As someone who enjoys swimming, I was disappointed after choosing this hotel for its pool area. To put it into perspective, if you sat at the bottom of the pool, your legs would not be fully submerged. To make matters worse, there was a sign that stated "Diving Not Allowed," which seemed like a cruel joke. The breakfast was below satisfactory, with cold hot dishes and stale croissants. The fruit options were limited to canned items, except for a few fresh apples. The display containers were filled with packaged condiments, giving the illusion of a variety of options. The coffee from the machine was the only decent part of the meal. Overall, our stay at this hotel was a costly mistake, and we would not recommend it to anyone. It was a complete rip-off and not worth the money.

The accommodation was conveniently located, directly across from a renowned architectural creation and only a short distance from Las Ramblas. To the left, you can reach Catalunya Square, the starting point for popular tourist buses. To the right, the port is situated, also offering access to these buses. The establishment itself was well-maintained, with cozy beds and a fantastic shower. Our room even had a bathtub, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. While the breakfast didn't suit our tastes, we found plenty of options outside the door or on Las Ramblas, including a well-known café chain. The 6th floor rooftop deck was a delightful spot to relax and soak in the atmosphere. I had read previous reviews mentioning uncooperative and impolite reception staff, but our experience was quite the opposite. The staff was more than accommodating, even offering us lockers for our luggage on the last day and providing a key card for access to the restroom and rooftop until our late evening flight. Overall, a satisfactory stay.

Recently spent a weekend at a hotel in Barcelona. The location was ideal, just off Las Ramblas. Despite reading some negative reviews, I was pleasantly surprised by the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. While my room wasn't large, it was more than enough for my stay. The bathroom was spacious and was cleaned daily. Breakfast offered a variety of options and the staff were always welcoming. The views from the roof terrace were stunning, providing a great vantage point to take in the beauty of Barcelona. The only downside was the lack of soundproofing in the rooms, as to be expected in an older building. Unfortunately, one night I was kept awake by a noisy guest for 30 minutes, but luckily it was only one night. I did notice some noise from the pipes when neighboring bathrooms were in use, but I'm not sure if that was specific to my room or a common issue. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would recommend this hotel for its location and friendly staff.

This was my first time writing a hotel review and unfortunately, my experience at the Gaudi Hotel in Barcelona was not a positive one. The only praise I have for this hotel is its convenient location. However, the front desk staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Prior to our arrival, I had requested for an early check-in as we were disembarking from a cruise. I also asked if there was a luggage storage option in case our rooms weren't available. The response I received was, as expected, that early check-in was subject to availability and luggage storage was not an issue.

However, upon our arrival at around 9:30am, the woman at the front desk curtly informed us that check-in time was at 3pm and we were not to return before then. When I inquired about the luggage storage, she handed us some keys to the lockers and gave us brief instructions. I then asked for a map of the area, to which she slapped some maps on the counter without any further assistance. When I asked if she could mark the hotel's location on the map for us, she let out a sigh before marking it.

Later in the day, when we asked about arranging transportation to the airport, the staff was unwilling to commit to helping us due to a marathon taking place the following morning with road closures. While the room itself was clean, I cannot recommend this hotel due to the poor attitude and unhelpfulness of the front desk staff.

This was my first stay at a lovely hotel in Barcelona and I will most definitely be returning. The staff at reception were fantastic and incredibly helpful. The lady who worked in the rooftop bar was delightful. The room was comfortable and even had a bath, which now makes this hotel my top choice. It was also very easy to locate, just off Las Ramblas. I highly recommend staying here.
