Golden Hotel Barcelona

The hotel had a pleasant atmosphere and a lovely scent in the foyer. The building itself was aesthetically pleasing and had a nice restaurant and bar. The breakfast provided was plentiful and satisfactory, with the added bonus of being open until 11 on weekends. The rooftop pool and jacuzzi were a delightful addition, especially since they were open in December. The bed was comfortable and the room was lovely. However, for those from the UK, it may be useful to bring a Spanish extension lead as there are no English channels available on the TV, only news. It is recommended to bring a fire stick and Spanish extension lead if one wishes to relax and watch British TV after a day of exploring. The Glories metro station is a short 6-minute walk away, with plenty of nearby restaurants. The Poblenou area is about a 10-minute walk away and also offers a variety of dining options. Using the metro was uncomplicated and convenient. The location was a bit far from the city center, but pickpocketing was not a concern. It is advised to avoid the restaurant closest to the hotel as it was not the most enjoyable dining experience. Overall, the hotel itself was great and I would definitely consider staying here again.

My friend and I opted for a room-only stay, so I can't comment on their breakfast selection. However, we did encounter a few minor issues during our time there. ?Every night, we were awoken by a loud rushing sound of water, which startled us. We even had to check for any flooding, but we couldn't figure out where the noise was coming from (it may have been temporary though, as it only lasted 10-15 minutes). Additionally, when we were checking out, we noticed a blood stain on the mattress. ?There was no mattress topper or protector, only a single sheet. We were too exhausted upon arrival to check, and then it slipped our minds. We mentioned it to reception and they assured us they would make a note of it, but I'm not sure what will be done about it. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and the rooms were well-equipped with plenty of outlets. However, the stained mattress and lack of protector were disappointing. ?

During our stay, the employees were unpleasant and lacked basic manners. Upon arrival at 9 am, we were scolded for arriving early. My partner had to ask one of the staff members to treat us with respect. Additionally, the breakfast was overpriced at 36 euros for one morning and the quality was subpar. The hot food was cold and unappetizing, leading us to go elsewhere for breakfast. This experience put a damper on our trip and we will not be coming back.

Most of the reception staff were pleasant, though some could use a reminder to maintain better composure. The room was immaculately clean and the cleaning staff were charming. The swimming pool andJacuzzi on the rooftop were fantastic but the bar was not open. Worth every penny, the €18 breakfast buffet offered an array of fresh options that were constantly restocked. Highly recommend!

The place was incredibly clean, with a pleasant scent throughout the building. Checking in was easy, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. It was located in a quieter area, a short walk away from the most popular tourist sites like Sagrada Familia. We had brunch at two great local spots, Can Dende and The Florentine, so be sure to book ahead if you're going during peak season. The rooftop had an amazing view, although the bar was closed. Bus sightseeing tours are a great way to check out the city, with a 24 hour ticket that's within walking distance from the hotel. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
