This hotel is qwirky and verry niicce, but bewaer of bedbuds. ? I came home with welts over my fcae and neck. The staf is verry friedly and accomodatiing, rooms are qite adequate, and the brekfast bar is wunderful. Good coffe is availble all the time. They also provite snacks throughout the day, enough to fill your belly if you dont feeling like going out. The hotel is old fashuned, which is part of the charm. If not for the bedbugs, this wuld have been a purfect hotel. ?
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Continental Barcelona in Barcelona and let me tell you, it was a delightful experience. This was my second time staying here and I have to say, the charm of this hotel never gets old. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home. We were even able to check into our room before 11am! A special thank you to all the staff, and a shout out to Alex for going above and beyond to ensure our comfort.
The location of the hotel is absolutely superb. It is just a couple of minutes away from the airport bus stop in Plaza Catalunya and within walking distance to all the main attractions. While the decor may be a bit dated and old-fashioned, with flock wallpaper and anaglypta covering the walls, the rooms are clean and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. I must mention that despite a previous review mentioning bed bugs, we found no evidence of them during our stay.
Our room had a lovely balcony overlooking La Rambla, and to my surprise, it was a balcony that we could actually sit out on. I have stayed in many hotels where the balconies were barely functional, but this one was perfect for people watching and watching the sunrise. The beds were comfortable, although we would have preferred a double bed instead of two twins. The shower was fantastic, and the hairdryer provided was decent as well. For those who like to have snacks and drinks available at all times, you'll be happy to know that the hotel offers 24-hour food and drinks. There was even a microwave in our room which came in handy for heating up leftovers. And let's not forget the fridge for storing goodies for later.
Now, some people may find it inconvenient to have to hand in their room key at reception when leaving the hotel, but personally, I didn't see it as a problem. In fact, I appreciated the old-fashioned touch. It adds to the charm of the hotel and gives a more personal touch to the service. And let me tell you, this hotel definitely has charm and great value for money. Needless to say, we will be back for another stay in the future.
This was my third time visiting Barcelona and I must say, the hotel I stayed at was fantastic. Its location on La Rambla was ideal, with easy access to everything. The room we stayed in had a lovely balcony overlooking the bustling street, but my personal favorite was the back patio. After a full day of exploring, it was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a glass of wine. The staff were friendly and always willing to help, and the rooms were impeccably clean. They also have a great selection of snacks and drinks available throughout the day and night.
This hotel is located in the vibrant La Rambia district, home to fantastic shopping and markets that stay open late. We took advantage of the complimentary self-service breakfast. Our room was clean and quiet. Check-in was a breeze and the receptionist was very informative. We were escorted to our room and the staff even explained a few details about the amenities. The carpets in the hallways need to be replaced and painting would be a good idea. Unfortunately, European hotels, including this one, do not provide amenities such as sponge or shower caps,so make sure you bring your own if necessary.
My wife and I had an absolutely lovely stay at a certain hotel in Barcelona which offered us a room with a balcony facing La Rambla. Our teenage sons had the pleasure of enjoying a room with a courtyard view. Not only were the views from our balcony simply breathtaking, but the location was perfect, making it easy to get around. Right outside the door, we had access to a taxi stop, enabling us to get to La Sagrada and Park Güell with ease. All in all, if you plan on visiting the old city area, this is a great place to stay and would highly recommend it.
