The staff at this hotel are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Breakfast has an abundance of choices each morning, and the bedrooms are huge with comfortable beds. The floor is a bit grubby, and the views outside are not great, but the welcoming amenities like a bottle of shampoo and other useful little packets more than make up for those. Our stay has been a positive one, thanks to the wonderful staff who have gone out of their way to make this a great experience.
Visiting Barcelona for a special occasion, I decided to book a 4 star hotel, located in a central area of the city. I was aware that this hotel was part of a charity group, which made me feel confident that I was helping a great cause. Unfortunately, when I arrived, it seemed to be more like a 2 star hotel, with clear signs of degradation. The staff were delightful and gave us an upgrade, but this still didn't make up for the poor quality of the accommodation. To make matters worse, I felt deceived when I realised that there were much nicer 5 star hotels in Barcelona on the same date for the same price. On top of that, I was told on the day of departure that breakfast was not included, raising the total to an outrageous cost for a 2 star hotel. Overall, it was a disappointing and shameful experience.
I had a pleasant stay at Ilunion Almirante Hotel in Barcelona. The location was ideal and the bedroom was spotless. The reception staff were friendly, polite, and attentive. When my mother and I arrived around 11am, we didn't expect to receive an immediate room, but they were able to accommodate us right away. I had requested a room with a balcony, but unfortunately didn't get one. I probably would've waited longer at check-in if asked, yet received an adequate room with a view of a building. On the first night of our stay, there were other guests on our floor being quite noisy. The walls were paper-thin, allowing us to hear all the commotion. We stayed in room 201 which needed a few minor updates. The tiles, floors, and bathtub all looked tired, but still remained clean. Breakfast was acceptable, with the pastries being particularly good. All in all, I had a comfortable stay at the Ilunion Almirante Hotel.
I had high hopes for what was supposed to be a 4 star hotel, but it was anything but. The room was cold and dated, and the bathroom was simply awful; broken tiles, mould, poor flushing toilet. There was no lounge area or bar and no comfortable place to relax. Despite the high prices, the amenities were extremely disappointing, and the breakfast selection was very poor. The location was good with it being near the train station, Placa de Catalyna and some tourist attractions, however, due to it being in a touristy area, the food options were overpriced and mediocre. We had to walk around 25-30 minutes to the Exiample neighbourhood for good food. However, the staff was really lovely and helpful. Overall, we wouldn't stay here again.
Woulden't recomend this hotle??. Bathroom door does'nt shut?. Outside the windo is big pipes? and lodes of rubish smells of sewrage, can hear watter from pipes 24/7 can hear everything trough the walls and vents, floor tiles crecked?. No clean towels or toliet paper given and wil not provide a room change?.
