Ilunion Almirante

It's near the airport and they have good service.

I will stay with this hotel again when I visit Barcelona for work and leisure (3-4 times per year). I will recommend it for our company when we have client visits and our international business meetings. Its proximity to the airport is a plus and its services are top-notch.

I can definitely say that my experience at Ilunion Almirante Hotel in Barcelona was nothing short of terrible. For the €450+ room price, we expected at least a room with lights and a pleasant ambience; instead, the room had a horrible smell coming from the sewers, and the bathroom door was unable to lock. Adding to the discomfort, we could hear our neighbours flushing the toilet, showering, and talking. To our dismay, fresh towels and toilet paper weren't provided which further added to our displeasure. I've added photos of our 'view' to demonstrate how disappointed I was. All in all, I would not suggest this hotel to anyone planning to visit Barcelona.

This hotel was a major let-down for what was promised. The lobby was nice enough and the staff were helpful, but everything else was a disaster. Uneven steps of the staircases going up to the rooms, bad paint jobs, door trimming separating from the wall, stripped paint on the wall and terrible lighting in the room. The bathroom door had a busted corner that didn't shut properly, ceiling tiles with dust/mold on the edges, broken shower head bracket and an ill-fitting shower divider that required the reception to fix. Despite the water pressure in the shower being high, the drain wasn't able to catch up and left your feet covered with sweat water. In a nutshell, what was advertised as a 4-star experience ended up being much worse. If you want a better outcome, it would be better to go for a 3-star hotel.

This place was a great find! Really great rates for the quality of the hotel and its service. I ended my European trip here in Barcelona, and it was a pleasure to stay here. The staff was very friendly and helpful and could communicate in multiple languages, especially English. I was really impressed by the care they put into their breakfast selection - it was well-planned and simply delicious! The location can not be beaten; it's near the Gothic Quarter (Cathedral, Arc de Triumph, walkable to tour office, 15-18 minutes to the Sagrada Familia and Casa Battlló). All these things should be taken into account when deciding to stay here - it really is a gem. Although I made a mistake of bringing breakfast to my room despite the signs, the crew were very understanding. All in all, this place was a great find!

I stayed at Ilunion Almirante and couldn't have been more pleased! The location was ideal for seeing the Cathedral and the Gothic Quarter-- walking distance from everything! The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was very helpful. The buffet breakfast was excellent and a great value. The view from the 8th floor was truly breathtaking. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!
