Melia Barcelona Sky 4* Sup

This hotel is quite lovely, unfortunately it has some issues. The rooms smelled strongly of cigarettes, and it was unpleasant for an American non-smoker. The tobacco smell was present in the lobby and all indoors areas. Additionally, the air conditioning was not functional and it was impossible to lower the temperature, despite the summer heat. I won't be staying here again.

My teenage son and I had a wonderful stay here. Our room was clean, spacious, and had great views. The hotel was modern and well-maintained, and the pool was relaxing despite its size. The selection of meals for breakfast and dinner was limited, but there was always something enjoyable to choose from. The immediate area had both a shopping mall and a vibrant street with many restaurants and bars, and the nearby Metro made it easy to explore the rest of Barcelona. We had a great time overall!

We were disappointed with the rooms. The bathroom door wouldn't close properly and the layout of the room was quite strange - the mirror was behind the TV, and the window had a screen so you couldn't fully appreciate the view. Thankfully, the staff were AMAZING! Claudia, Alejandro and Lara were so helpful and had great customer service - they were more than happy to help with anything we needed and even booked us a dinner reservation. Our stay here was made much better by their fantastic service and it would be worth returning just to enjoy their hospitality again.

This was simply the best hotel I have ever stayed in anywhere in Europe. The staff was amazing, especially Julia at reception. Every single person who was working there was so helpful and kind. Samual at the bar was incredible. The hospitality was unbeatable. I am already looking forward to returning for my Nanny's birthday in October - I was even given a cake and cava on my 40th birthday, which was such a lovely gesture!

When checking in after a long journey, we were asked to prove that we owned the payment card for our booking, which was impossible because we had booked through a third-party website. For 30 minutes we demanded to speak to a manager, only to be told that one was not available at that time. This left me feeling very frustrated and I was promised that a manager would speak to me the next day, but nothing came of it. Not even a complimentary drink was offered for taking away a small part of our break. The hotel is otherwise great - great room views, very clean and tidy, with a really good breakfast - however, I think their card policy needs changing or staff need better training.
