Looking at different aspects, the personnel were outstanding: 5 stars. The location was also excellent: 5 stars. The building itself also earned 5 stars. The room was stylishly designed, but the table was not in the best condition, and the bathroom door had some water damage. It felt as if the hotel had skipped a few renovation cycles. The rooftop was nice, but I was uneasy about the wooden floor, which is not what I would expect from a 5-star hotel. Additionally, we weren't completely satisfied with the breakfast. It felt too sterile and lacked coziness.
This is a great hotel with a central garden patio and ancient walls at the back. The rooftop bar has a pool and looks nice, though it was unmanned and we didn't spot any guests making use of it. We observed the phone for ordering food and drinks was missing. In the nearby cafe, Le Bouchon, the staff and food were both fantastic- we had lunch there several times. We had breakfast in the dining room; the food was wonderful and the service, headed up by Simona, was outstanding. The front desk staff, concierge, housekeepers and bell persons were courteous and helpful. It's a shame they didn't wear name tags, as we would have liked to be able to give them personal praise. The only downside was the room. It was beautiful, clean and had a view of some lush greenery; however, there were some operational issues which made it frustrating. The hairdryer needed to be held down to work; the toilet paper holder was hard to use; the bathroom socket claimed to accept 110 voltage, but didn't, requiring an adapter; the bathroom lights were only on one side of the sink/mirror area; tiny shampoo, etc. bottles were still in use, instead of refillable ones; the shower floor was slippery; the make-up mirror had to be continually tightened; the shower temperature adjustment was hard to use; some drawers wouldn't stay closed. All these elements were annoying, so should we return to Barcelona we'd probably try out a different hotel.
This accommodation was situated in the ideal spot in the Gothic quarter. Everything was modern and chic, with comfortable rooms. The breakfasts provided were exquisite. The staff were outstanding; Jenina was particularly superlative.
Staying at this ? hotel was a truly enjoyable experience. The location was amazing ? and the architecture was breathtaking ⭐. I can't forget to mention ? the incredible bar ?, the stunning room ?, and of course, the amazing rooftop bar ? which amazed us all! Every single staff member was highly professional ?, from the doorman ? to the front desk people ? to the bartenders ? and housekeeping ??. Highly recommend this place ?!
We couldn't have been more pleased. This hotel, located in the lively Gothic Quarter, was convenient yet totally quiet. Our room and bath were large and extremely comfortable. The staff were gracious and helpful, providing great recommendations for restaurants. We look forward to returning.
