During our recent trip to Barcelona, we had the pleasure of staying at a hotel that was part of our land tour with Princess Cruises. Our accommodations were impressive, offering spacious rooms and thoughtful amenities. The location was ideal and the breakfast was simply delightful. Our experience at this hotel was nothing short of enjoyable and we had no complaints. As seasoned travelers, we are quite discerning when it comes to choosing hotels and we were pleasantly surprised by the choice made by our land tour.
During my recent trip to Barcelona, I had an excellent experience at the hotel I stayed at. The team at the front desk was incredibly accommodating, especially when I arrived early in the morning before check-in time. They provided top-notch service while I waited for my room to be ready. Throughout my week-long stay, the entire staff was always friendly and helpful. I must also give a special mention to the breakfast buffet, which was a perfect 10/10.
During my recent business trip to Barcelona, I stayed at a hotel located in a quiet area near a fancy shopping center and about a mile away from FC Barcelona's stadium. Although the location was convenient, the hotel itself left much to be desired. The room looked outdated and lacked proper amenities, such as a sturdy ironing board and decent coffee options. The bathroom also had some issues, with water leaking from the shower and the provided branded green tea amenities being subpar. The rooftop pool, while offering nice views, was too cold for a comfortable swim and did not match the glamorous photo on the website. The gym was tiny and not well-equipped, so I found it better to go for a run outside. The breakfast buffet was not worth the price, so I opted to grab meals from nearby establishments instead. While the fusion restaurant was decent for a quick dinner, overall, the hotel's services were not up to par. My early check-in was appreciated, but the checkout process was marred by a rude and unhelpful staff member who made unnecessary inquiries and became hostile when questioned. Due to this unpleasant experience, I will not be returning to this hotel and will instead try a nearby AC hotel for my next visit.
This hotel was great! The staff were friendly and helpful, the wifi was excellent, and the breakfast was good. However, it would have been even better if breakfast started earlier, at 6 AM. Additionally, there should have been anti-slippery mats in the bathrooms. The hotel is a 12-15 minute walk away from the nearest metro station, but it is very close to the Liala shopping center.
Positive points: 1. Room and bathroom size were spacious and modern. 2. Bed was quite large and comfortable. 3. Lobby was sizable and had nice decor. 4. Rooms were brightly lit. 5. Kettle and a selection of teas were provided in the room. 6. The hotel was near a nice shopping mall and had several cozy cafes nearby. 7. It was within walking distance of Av. diagonal which had plenty of shops, eateries and a bus stop for the city tour. 8. The area felt safe.
Negative points: 1. The receptionist with red hair was extremely rude. When we arrived early, the floor manager who checked us in was very polite and said he would try to get at least one room ready in an hour. When we returned an hour later, we got one room and asked the red haired lady about the second room. She simply replied in three words, "I don't know". That's not how hotel staff are supposed to reply to inquiries. 2. The hairdryer in the bathroom looked to be at least 10 years old, though it worked okay. 3. Bathroom should have come with a shower cap for the ladies. 4. Hotel was quite far from the main attractions, about a 10 to 15 minute taxi journey away. Impossible to walk to any of the sightseeing spots.
