Novotel Barcelona City

The rooms were surprisingly peaceful and immaculately tidy, plus the hotel's location was unbeatable. The service was satisfactory. However, for a group of four (two grown-ups and two kids), the queen size bed and pullout sofa didn't provide the most comfortable sleeping arrangements. Our check-in process was a bit chaotic - despite arriving early from our overseas flight and the designated check-in time, our room was not yet available. We did enjoy the fantastic breakfast at the hotel's restaurant, but didn't have the chance to try out their lunch or dinner options.

The rooftop pool bar was a definite highlight, staying open until late ?. The staff at reception were incredibly friendly and welcoming ?. Without a doubt, this is a hotel worth revisiting! ?

Unfortunately, our recent stay in Barcelona was not as enjoyable as we had hoped. The staff at the hotel were unwelcoming and even rude at times. We felt that we were being taken advantage of, with hidden fees and an uncomfortable atmosphere. We were also treated differently because of our ethnicity and religion, which was very disappointing. The restaurant staff in particular seemed unwelcoming towards us. Despite our complaints and attempts to rectify the situation, our vacation was ultimately ruined. We will not be returning to this hotel and cannot recommend it to others, especially those of Arab and Muslim backgrounds.

During our recent first visit to Barcelona, we spent three nights at a hotel located in a convenient area. Across the street, there was a Westfield shopping center where we found various cafes and restaurants. Additionally, the tram and bus network was easily accessible from the hotel. A short walk away, we found a stop for the City Tour hop on, hop off bus. The breakfast at the hotel was superb and the staff were very friendly. While we had a great stay overall, I believe a few improvements could be made. The mattress in our room was quite solid and not very comfortable. Additionally, the room service menu was quite limited. Despite these minor issues, we would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

The accommodation was decently situated, not in the central hub. I was granted a suite upgrade, which was enjoyable. However, the keycards were finicky. The staff, on the whole, were satisfactory. As anticipated, the hotel was tidy. The hop on bus stop was conveniently located just outside and provided a lovely view of the cathedral.
