Occidental Diagonal 414

We were very pleased with our stay at this hotel! The decor was tasteful and the room was spotless. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and it was in an ideal spot to see all the best bits of Barcelona. Plus, the rooftop pool and bar were a huge bonus!

The staff at the Occidental Diagonal 414 Hotel in Barcelona were fantastic. Breakfast offered a huge selection, and the location was ideal, a 35-minute walk into the heart of the city with great local amenities close by like Aldi. The room was immaculately kept and was serviced whenever needed. It was also a pleasure to lounge on the hotel's terrace and marvel at the beautiful Barcelona views. One tip for travelers from the UK - bring your own tea bags, as there is no English Breakfast tea available.

I was very pleased with my stay at Occidental Diagonal 414 hotel. The welcoming drinks were perfectly cold and refreshing, and I was overwhelmed with comfort upon entering my room. It was immaculately clean, and spacious for my needs. The breakfast was definitely a highlight with so many yummy choices available. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive throughout my stay. It was close enough to many of Barcelona's attractions that I could easily walk to them. The pool was a welcome respite after a long, hot day of exploration. All in all, I had a wonderful experience.

We had an amazing experience at this five-star hotel. From the moment we arrived, the receptionists and all of the hotel staff we encountered were friendly, courteous and professional. Their public areas were modern and impeccably maintained. Our room was beautiful, and we were provided with complimentary robes, coffee/tea, shower gel and conditioner. It was both cool and incredibly quiet, providing us with a restful night's sleep. The housekeeping was top notch, with fresh towels available daily. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the bedding was crisp. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast with omelettes, fried eggs, smoothies, pastries, and a few hot options. The hotel is well-positioned for all the popular attractions and is close to the metro, which was an easy way to get around. We'd absolutely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family.

We had rented a suite in order to get a big and nice hotel room, and that it was. Unfortunately, after a few days the aircon broke down, forcing us to have to move to another hotel. This one was outside of the city and definitely not the same standard as what we had originally ordered and paid for. Furthermore, it was so far away that we had to take a cab everywhere. We complained, but were told that we could only get compensated for our problems and inconvenience if we sent an email after getting home, which we didn't want. We just wanted the same holiday/hotel room we had bought and paid for, but it was not possible. Now back home, we have sent 6 emails, called 4 times, and even written directly to the general manager but have not received any answer whatsoever. We would not recommend this hotel, as the service is clearly lacking and there is plenty of incompetence. We have stayed in much cheaper hostels where the respect for customers was significantly higher.
