Petit Palace Boqueria Garden

My experience at the Petit Palace Boqueria Garden was exceptional! From the incredibly friendly and helpful staff to the modern and comfortable rooms, it was truly a home away from home. Yasser and Victor were absolute stars and went out of their way to make our stay an unforgettable one. We were especially impressed with the selection of facilities - from the rooftop pool to the onsite bar and restaurant, there was something for everyone! Furthermore, the hotel's location was perfect for us, being just minutes away from Barcelona's famous attractions and monuments. We couldn't have asked for a better stay and highly recommend the Petit Palace Boqueria Garden to anyone looking for a peaceful break in beautiful Barcelona!

The Petit Palace Boqueria Garden may rate as a 4 star, but I'd argue it's only a 2 or 3 stars. We were off-put when we arrived and were immediately solicited by people selling cans of beer and drugs. The entrance also had wilted flower pots and a huge dried flower arrangement that should have been thrown out. Check-in was straightforward, but our room was a huge letdown. It was worse than your average Premier Inn, with cheap, chipped furniture and that bright red chair - what was that doing there?! The whole place had an identity crisis - it was clearly trying to be trendy but ended up being pretty traditional. Not a pleasant stay.

We booked two rooms for our family of four at Petit Palace Boqueria Garden for March 22, 2023. As soon as we checked in, we noticed the rooms were stuffy and smelly. We contacted the front desk and were told that the air-conditioning units had been turned off and wouldn't be turned on until the summer. Despite the heat outside and inside, they refused our request for a refund so we could stay elsewhere. We contacted Expedia and were eventually offered two rooms at a different hotel 10 minutes away, but it was already late and we were too exhausted to make the change. We had no choice but to suffer in the hot rooms with open windows and the loud noise from the alleyway. In the morning, we spoke to the manager and he was dismissive of our situation, trying to dodge the problem and instead asking us to leave a good review on TripAdvisor. We would never come back to this hotel, nor would we recommend it.
