Royal Ramblas

The location was great, but our experience was less than satisfactory. We had booked two "designer rooms" in advance, but on arrival we were told that these were the premium rooms. Despite our emails in advance, the man at reception acted as if this was the best he could do. The next day we complained again and eventually got the rooms we had booked. Disappointingly, there was no apology or discount offered for the trouble we had faced.

I chose this accommodation based on its location, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and in order, although a bit dated. We had an issue with the aircon, which was resolved while we were away from the room. However, what we weren't informed of at reception and only realised on the day of our departure, was that the external window must be closed for the air conditioning to operate. There were two sets of windows, one internal and one external; we had closed the internal one but there was also a switch on the external that controlled the aircon. Although I can appreciate why this is necessary, it would have been helpful to be told at check-in that the outer window must be closed as well.

Our stay was excellent. The staff were very welcoming and polite and we felt safe and looked after. Upon arrival, they took our luggage away to a locked room while we waited to check in. Later, our luggage had already been taken up to the room. There was always security on the doors. Breakfast was great, with a variety of delicious pastries. The room was cleaned and serviced perfectly, with comfy beds and strong air conditioning. Although there were only thick net curtains, the evening light didn't bother us. The hotel's location was ideal, being near everything we wanted to see. The street outside gets busy in the evenings, but it was always a relief to come back to the hotel. We had a great stay and hope to be back soon.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel right in the heart of the city. Our room was spotless and extremely comfortable. The staff were all incredibly helpful and welcoming. When we needed to arrange a day trip at the last minute, they were more than happy to assist. Furthermore, the breakfast offered was delicious!

We had a great experience at this hotel. From the very start, check-in was a breeze and our room was ready sooner than expected. The location was ideal and the room itself was small but well-thought-out. Everything was spotless and tidy. Breakfast came with the rate and was fantastic. Staff were also great when it came to arranging transfers. We would definitely come back!
