Royal Ramblas

This hotel is situated in a perfect spot. It was immaculate and the staff was incredibly hospitable. Unfortunately, this accommodation does not currently provide gluten free bread and cookies for breakfast, which I hope they will consider adding in the future because I would love to come back and experience even more.

I stayed at the Royal Ramblas on the 24th and upon entering my room my first impression was that of disappointment. The bathroom had a huge cockroach and lots of mould around the edges, and the carpets and wallpaper were both dark brown. There was also a very strange smell emanating from the room. I immediately asked for a new room and was thankfully accommodated. Whilst I appreciate the free breakfast offer, I feel that given the cost of a 5-star hotel, it was unacceptable. The reception area was beautifully decorated, leading me to wish that the same effort had been made in creating the rooms that guests stay in. On the whole, I was very disappointed with Royal Ramblas, and I urge future guests to be warned.

We arrived before check in but were assured we could leave our luggage with a bellman. We returned later to find our backpack with everything valuable had been stolen. They promised the hotel insurance would cover our losses, no worries, and we spent the past month searching for receipts and proof of purchase to submit to their insurance. Today we received notice that nothing is covered because it wasn’t in our room. The hotel claims that the bellman taking our items into his care is not their responsibility until it reaches the room? What kind of business and insurance is this? Not one I care to endorse.

The location of this hotel was incredibly central. We were close to the stop for the sightseeing buses, which was a great bonus! We were also close to stores, restaurants and bars. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortably soft. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel's location is excellent - right on the Ramblas and yet no noise gets into the rooms! ?? It's also spotlessly clean and has all the necessary facilities. What really makes it stand out, though, is the staff! ?? Lilian & Hector sorted out an issue with the air con in my room as soon as I arrived, moving me straight into another one and apologising profusely. ? Every day they welcomed me with a smile and were incredibly professional. Yurkin was also wonderful, so helpful and always cheerful. ?? Whoever you are in charge of the place, take care of these guys - they make it so special! ?
