Best Western Plus Hotel Alfa Aeropuerto

This hotel was a great place to stay. The front desk staff were charming and were able to communicate with us in English, which was a great help since we had no Spanish. Outdoor bar area was great. We didn't eat in the dining room, but the bar areas served great hamburgers and grilled cheese. The front desk staff also provided information about the bus service to the city centre, which was very useful given the distance from the city centre. We also found an interesting shopping/neighbourhood area right across the bridge. Additionally, the hotel offers a check-in at 12 noon which was really handy if you are coming from a cruise ship or have a flight to catch. The airport shuttle is popular, so make sure to book it early. We met a lot of guests staying at the hotel for either end or both end of their cruise, even some from our own cruise. It was overall a pleasant experience.

The room was really lovely. But the food was phenomenal! I enjoyed the Hake for supper and it was without a doubt the most delicious meal I had while I was travelling in this part of the Mediterranean. I'd definitely go back just to have it again! If I ever come back to Barcelona, this is where I'm staying - just for the food! The chef certainly did a great job!

I'd definitely stay here again. This accommodation totally surpassed my expectations. Conveniently located near the airport, it was perfect for after returning from a cruise. The free shuttle service was a great value as well. All the staff were wonderful, and a special shoutout to Manuel for his hospitality. The room was clean, modern, and exactly as advertised. We had a really unpleasant check-in experience at Best Western Plus Hotel Alfa Aeropuerto. We were informed that our reservation for three people would cost an additional $40.00 per night. When we inquired if it would be cheaper to book two separate rooms, we were told that it would be $600 for a second room. We proceeded with the first reservation and were told that breakfast was included, however the following morning we were informed that was a mistake and it was not included. The hotel had poor internet service which we needed as two of us needed to work during the day. There was no internet the first night and the following day it still wasn't working with no estimated time of repair. The hotel restaurant was decent, however the hotel is not close to any other nice restaurants as its located amongst truck stops offering fried and greasy food options. It's also quite far from the heart of the city so you'd have to drive, get an Uber or take the train. We regret staying here as it was far away from the stadium we were going to and a huge inconvenience. We wouldn't recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Barcelona as you would be better off staying closer to the attractions.

Pros: Clean and spacious rooms, friendly and helpful staff that speak multiple languages. The price is reasonable. Public transportation right in front of the hotel. There is a workout room and a restaurant. Cons: Not a true king bed, airport shuttle hours are particular, bad location with loud concerts by the open field in front of the hotel every weekend (so avoid rooms in that side). Also, don't trust the smart tv in the room, as the previous guests' Netflix account may still be used.
