Catalonia Ramblas 4* Sup

This hotel was decent and in a great location. They mention having a "gym" but it was really just a small room with 3 cardio machines and no weights or resistance machines. So if having a gym is important to you, it's something to keep in mind. I also had some issues with certain staff in the breakfast room being a bit rude, like one person responding to my question with a sneer and saying "oh, you're an American." Overall, it was okay, but I would consider it more of a three-star rather than a four-star hotel.

Avoid this accommodation. The customer service was appalling with Edurne Morte being a particularly unhelpful staff member. If you make a mistake, take responsibility for it instead of blaming it on "the system". You'd be better off spending your money on somewhere that values their guests.

The room was great and the pool with its outdoor bar was a nice bonus. Its location can't be beat - only two blocks from the Ramblas, and the hop on hop off bus is close by too. There's loads of shopping and restaurants right out front, plus easy access to taxi cabs. The only downside is that the front desk staff didn't have the most enthusiastic attitude - it was almost like they were looking for reactions. If you're planning to arrive before the check in time of 3PM, be sure to either pre-book your room or don't expect to be checked in until then. The wait in line during mass check in can be long, and the staff generally spend their time socializing with each other instead of tending to customers. Despite this, I still really enjoyed my stay here and perhaps I just need to adjust my expectations when it comes to hotel staff.

We had booked a room at another hotel, but when we got there electricity was out on a whole floor. The next hotel we were sent to welcomed us warmly and didn't charge us for the upgrade. This luxury hotel was comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. Our meal in the restaurant was one of the best we had in Spain, and the service was excellent. Even the maid in the lobby lounge early next morning was cheerful and showed me how to make coffee. All in all a great experience!

We stayed in a family room - plenty of room for 4 of us - two adults and two teens. The bathroom was separate which was great for us, and the frosted shower door meant that someone could use the bathroom while another was showering without any privacy issues. The pool area was a fantastic addition after a busy day of sightseeing, and we never had trouble locating a bed; there was a good selection of both sun beds and those in the shade. The bar area was a pleasant spot with regular misting to cool guests down. We didn't choose to have breakfast at the hotel; instead, we opted for a quick pastry at a cafe across the way before venturing out each day. The hotel's location was ideal for exploring the popular Las Ramblas and the metro station, and there were plenty of bars and restaurants close by. The hotel was clean and room service was provided twice a day. We would recommend this hotel and stay there again in future.
