A great by the sea 5 star hotel

The Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel GL is a great by the sea 5 star hotel. An hotel where everything seems luxury, exclusive and Avant-garde. The building, which resembles a transatlantic liner, is often mistaken for the ships and cruisers which, anchored in the port of Barcelona. It offers terrace, pool, spa and a lot more for a great stay in family or for business..

Our stay at a hotel in Barcelona was wonderful. We were there for two nights before departing on a cruise. Due to a mistake on my part, we originally booked a room with twin beds instead of a double. However, the staff at check-in were able to quickly accommodate our request for a room with a double bed. Unfortunately, our first room had a less-than-relaxing view of a small ship with loud music playing for an event that night. We asked to switch to a quieter room and were promptly moved. The service thus far was outstanding, but there was more to come.

We decided to have a drink and a light dinner at the Corner Bar, where we received excellent service. Our server, Ricardo, was incredibly kind and helpful. He truly went above and beyond and should be recognized by the management for his dedication to his job and guests. On our second night, Ricardo continued to provide exceptional service and we were pleasantly surprised by a performance from three talented opera singers. It was a lovely touch that we certainly didn't expect.

Even at breakfast, Ricardo was there to assist us with his charming demeanor. Overall, our stay was fantastic and we were grateful for the great service provided by Ricardo and the rest of the staff.

My previous experience with the chain in a different city was quite unpleasant, however, I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at this hotel. The staff were lovely and accommodating, going out of their way to assist with an early check-in. The room itself was spacious and cozy, with comfortable beds and a perfectly sized bath. The location was also ideal. Overall, I have no complaints about my stay at this hotel.

The breakfast provided was not up to par, but the options for a cold breakfast were satisfactory. The hotel operates on a self-service model, even for tea and coffee. As someone who enjoys a pot of tea, I was disappointed to find only a cup available. The bed in my room was extremely comfortable, but it was concerning to see that there were no hand rails in the shower. This could be unsettling for older guests like myself. It was also odd that there was only one mug provided for a room meant for two people. Despite these issues, I was ultimately satisfied with my stay.

? ️I would strongly advise avoiding this hotel as the ?hygiene and cleanliness of the rooms is absolutely ?appalling. The ?️rooms are old and in desperate need of a makeover, with stained and ?️damaged furniture. The ?bath towels were a dull grey color, indicating they have been used far too many times. To make matters worse, there were ??marks and toenails on the floor next to the bed - absolutely ? dreadful. We tried to enjoy the pool ?‍♀️despite it being closed, but the broken and uneven tiles made it incredibly hazardous. On top of that, there were more ?birds, specifically seagulls, at breakfast than actual guests. With so many other options in Barcelona, there is simply no reason for me to ever consider ? returning or coming back to this place.

? Just returned from a 4 night stay and feeling disappointed ? We were promised a room for 2 adults and 3 children but only got one double bed on arrival ? Had to deal with a single bed being wheeled in and a sofa bed being extended. More frustrations with key cards not working and room not being made up until late in the day ? The swimming pool was closed too. Asked for a child-friendly restaurant recommendation but ended up at a club instead ?‍♀️ Definitely not suitable for families, maybe better for business or short stays before a cruise.
