A great by the sea 5 star hotel

The Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel GL is a great by the sea 5 star hotel. An hotel where everything seems luxury, exclusive and Avant-garde. The building, which resembles a transatlantic liner, is often mistaken for the ships and cruisers which, anchored in the port of Barcelona. It offers terrace, pool, spa and a lot more for a great stay in family or for business..

I just stayed here for 3 nights before embarking on my trip around Spain. This was my third stay, but sadly the pricing feels a bit uncomfortable; why can't I get a good deal? Having said that, I'm definitely a huge fan and appreciate the location. I'd like to thank the team at the Piscina bar and Colegos, as well as the lovely, friendly woman at breakfast and reception this morning (I wish I caught her name). Lastly, a special thank you to John from Room 543, the man who never sleeps!

This stay was much worse than anticipated. The furniture was run-down, stained chairs and carpeting, along with an outdated runner from the 90's. It was impossible to sleep due to the noise coming from the neighbouring TVs and conversations. Furthermore, the balcony floor was unstable and unclean. There was also a leaking faucet which needed to be fixed. The only positive from this stay was the breakfast, which had a good selection and was served in a pleasant outdoor setting with friendly staff. Unfortunately, the coffee was terrible and the view from the window was depressing.

I booked an overnight stay for a cruise that departed from Barcelona and the hotel was conveniently located next to the dock with just a one minute walk. The room was very spacious with a balcony and extremely comfortable bed. We had a pleasant evening drink at the bar and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a small problem with our room, but the General Manager personally came up to help us and made sure the issue was sorted. Breakfast was served outside and had a great selection of both hot and cold food - with bottles of Cava available, it made for a perfect start to our morning. We asked for a late check out and the hotel kindly extended our stay to fit in with our embarkation time. All in all, it was the perfect choice for us and we couldn't have been more pleased.

The stay here was definitely not a 5-star experience. From the moment we checked in, the service was far from satisfactory. We were given a completely wrong room and the alternative they offered us had a less-than-pleasing ✔️view of a construction site. When we asked for another option, they said that the hotel was fully booked, and there was nothing they could do ?‍♂️. In hindsight, it would have been better to try and book a room somewhere else in Barcelona ?.

My stay at the Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel GL in Barcelona was absolutely outstanding! The location, right next to the cruise port, was beautiful and convenient. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We got much better rooms than the ones we had booked, and the upgrade was amazing. The balcony offered a spectacular view of the marina and the rooms were huge. The bar was delightful and the breakfast had the best selection I've seen in any hotel. I'm looking forward to returning soon!
