During our trip to Barcelona, my partner and I had a wonderful stay at a hotel near the cruise port. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite when we arrived late at night. The suite was absolutely stunning and the hotel staff were incredibly efficient during the check-in process. We were also grateful to the bell boy who promptly took our luggage to our room, which was already waiting for us upon our arrival. Although we didn't have the chance to use any of the hotel's facilities, we were impressed with the service and would certainly choose to stay here again in the future.
Our experience at this hotel was far from satisfactory and we strongly advise against staying here. Despite our hopes for a pleasant stay, we were thoroughly disappointed by the lack of information provided about the location of the rooms. To our dismay, we discovered that they were situated next to a bustling passenger and cargo port, with massive ships parked just 50 meters from our window. The constant noise of the engines made it impossible to get any rest. As a business-oriented hotel, we had expected to have a room with a view of the sea and the marina, not the constant presence of towering passenger ships. To make matters worse, we were constantly disrupted by loud cruise announcements through a megaphone. It was a feeling of being tricked and disrespectfully treated. We might as well have been sleeping at a train station. To add to the frustration, the reception staff allocated these subpar rooms and simply hoped for the best. All this for a room costing 1200 euros for a four-night stay. The hotel itself had a gloomy atmosphere, with narrow corridors and worn-out furniture. Needless to say, we would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
My recent stay in Barcelona was truly extraordinary. The accommodations were spacious and impeccably maintained. The hotel staff was incredibly kind and always willing to assist. I even recommended the hotel to my brother and he shared the same positive experience. The location was ideal for exploring the city and there were plenty of affordable taxis available. If I find myself in Barcelona again, I will definitely choose this hotel as my top choice.
This "luxury" hotel fell short of its alleged five-star rating. Basic amenities like enough toilet paper and tissue were lacking and the scarce outlets for charging electronic devices were inconveniently placed. The outdated decor and unreliable WiFi only added to the disappointment. Located in the port, guests should be aware that the sound of cruise liners can be disturbing, especially when they beep while backing up. Despite booking a bottle of wine to be delivered to the room before our trip, the hotel failed to do so and we had to remind them multiple times. Even after paying for it, the wine was never delivered and we had to fight for a refund. On a positive note, the breakfast was good and the location was a short 10-minute walk to the city center. However, taxis were not always readily available. Overall, we were disappointed by the lack of attention to detail and subpar service at this hotel.

Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel left me feeling incredibly let down. I had planned to take my partner here for her birthday on a weekend, but due to a family emergency, we had to postpone the trip. Despite reaching out to both Expedia and the hotel directly, we were met with no understanding or willingness to assist us in changing our booking to a later date. Even after explaining our situation and requesting their help, the hotel simply directed us back to Expedia without offering any solution. It was disheartening to see that they seemed uninterested in our custom and the £1400 we were willing to spend. One would expect a hotel of this caliber to prioritize their customers and show compassion in the face of unexpected circumstances. Sadly, this was not the case and we ended up losing all of our money. The lack of service and understanding shown by this hotel has left a bitter taste in my mouth and I will not be booking with them again. I am certain that there are other hotels out there with more compassionate and accommodating staff.
