During my recent business trip to Barcelona, I had the pleasure of staying at a hotel located near public transportation. The establishment was exceptionally clean and provided a sense of safety and comfort. Additionally, the locally-inspired breakfast served was excellent and the hotel staff were extremely friendly. I was impressed by the hotel's amenities, including a pool and gym. I would definitely choose to stay here again in the future.

During our week-long stay with my family, we were impressed by the spacious and perfect apartment we were given. The reception staff and cleaning staff were both helpful and friendly. Additionally, the hotel's convenient location near lovely restaurants and a bus stop made it easy for us to get around and explore the city. We are already looking forward to returning in the future!

During our stay in Barcelona, we had the pleasure of staying at a hotel that exceeded our expectations. The accommodations were immaculate, complete with a modern and inviting bathroom, with excellent water pressure in the shower. The staff at the front desk were incredibly welcoming and provided us with helpful tips for exploring the city. The location of the hotel was ideal, making it easy for us to explore all the sights and sounds of the city.

The highlight of this hotel was its great location and stylish interior. However, our stay was marred by a few drawbacks. Firstly, our superior double room, for which we paid around £150 per night, lacked natural light. Situated on the first floor, it had a view of a wall and we couldn't even catch a glimpse of the sky from the window. As a 4* hotel, this is simply not acceptable. Additionally, the noise from other guests in neighboring rooms disrupted our sleep multiple times every night. When we brought up the lack of daylight issue after the first night, the staff did offer to move us to a different room. However, this room was not yet ready and we would have had to pack up and leave our bags while waiting. As we only had a short trip, we didn't want to waste time on this option and the staff did not offer any other solutions.

It is important for the hotel to state clearly when a room has no natural light, and offer a discounted rate for such rooms. I confirmed with a local friend that facing a wall is not uncommon in Barcelona, but usually at a lower price. It is disappointing to see that this issue has been mentioned in previous reviews but the hotel has not taken any steps to address it. Overall, our stay was not up to par with the standards of a Preferred Hotels & Resorts member.

My recent stay at Hotel Balmes, a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, in Barcelona was a huge disappointment. The rooms were incredibly small and did not offer any views whatsoever. In fact, my room faced a wall only one foot away and was labeled as a "courtyard view." Despite bringing this issue to the front desk, my concerns were completely ignored. To make matters worse, the cost of the rooms was exorbitant and the customer service was subpar. My experience at Hotel Balmes was beyond unsatisfactory and not worth the high price.
