My first experience in Barcelona was greater than expected thanks to the wonderful 3 or 4 star hotel I stayed at. The accommodations were great value for the money and the location was perfect. I was also impressed with the friendly and accommodating staff. Not to mention, there was a fantastic Catalana restaurant only two blocks away that served mouth-watering, fresh meals, all for a fraction of what I would have paid back home in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I had an amazing stay at the Hotel Balmes, a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts. My room had a small private pool, which, unfortunately due to a lack of rain and water restrictions, the hotel was not able to fill. But the staff member, Mercedes, at the front desk was incredibly helpful, and after consulting with her manager, upgraded me to a suite. The room was spacious, clean, and had a kitchenette which was perfect for my needs.
The hotel's location is central and very close to some of Barcelona's must-see sights such as: the Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's museum, and Las Ramblas. Plus there are also many great restaurants within walking distance.
I was only in Barcelona for the weekend, but I have highly recommended this hotel to a friend of mine who will soon be visiting the city. If I have the chance to return to Barcelona, I will be back at Hotel Balmes, a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts without question.
This centrally located hotel is an excellent location near the Ramblas, La Padrera, and other attractions within walking distance. Were very impressed with the staff and their delightful breakfast. Although situated on a busy street, there was no traffic noise. Plus, there are great restaurants and stores nearby for everyday needs. We look forward to returning.
I always stay at Hotel Balmes, a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts in Barcelona - and I absolutely love it! ? Located centrally and just 20 minutes from Plaza Catalunya and metro stops, it's the perfect spot for a city break. ? The staff are exceptional, always doing their best to get you checked in early. ? Plus, as a boutique hotel it has plenty of options when it comes to room types. ? All in all, I can highly recommend! ?
I recently stayed at this lovely hotel and I would certainly recommend it. The rooms are quite comfortable and well-suited for a solo traveler in a superior room. The hotel staff were friendly and attentive and the service I received was top-notch. The facilities were very clean and the location was great, with lots of restaurants and coffee shops nearby as well as supermarkets operating 24/7. Public transport, which can easily be accessed on foot, takes you to all of the wonderful attractions the city has to offer. I was a bit disappointed with the fitness center, though, as it didn't live up to what was advertised on their website. There were only three cardio bicycles and no free weights or adequate space for a yoga mat. All in all, a great place for a comfortable sleep, shower and bath.
