Hotel Derby

My stay at the Hotel Derby in Barcelona was truly delightful. I was extremely impressed with the high-quality experience I received, especially considering the reasonable price I paid. Without a doubt, I would choose to stay at this hotel again in the future. The staff were always friendly and attentive, ensuring that my every need was met with professionalism and efficiency.

The hotel I stayed at in Barcelona was a great place to start my trip. The staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to help us. On top of that, there's a lovely bar right off the lobby for a post-7 P.M. wind down. The rooms were spacious and tidy. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, and the neighborhood felt safe to walk around in. Bus stops are easily accessible and we found that a short taxi ride to Placa de Espana was only 8 euros. We were well looked after and felt secure during our stay. Our gratitude goes out to the hotel's staff.

Located just outside of the city center, a brief 10 minute stroll from the closest subway stop, the hotel's location was not ideal. However, the room itself was quite spacious and the staff was welcoming. Our favorite part was the charming Italian eatery right next door. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by a malfunctioning room safe and blinds that refused to cooperate, leaving us with only the net curtains for privacy. Despite our repeated requests, the technician was constantly delayed and we were left to deal with the less-than-hot shower and slightly uncomfortable pillows. In conclusion, this particular hotel would not be one that I could confidently suggest to others. While the Spanish approach of "it will be solved eventually" was present, it was not the most timely solution.

Our recent stay was quite enjoyable. The room provided was neat and had all necessary amenities. The hotel is superbly situated, with convenient access to shopping and public transportation. We opted for the breakfast package and were pleasantly surprised by the variety of options at the buffet. From refreshing juices to a variety of breads, spreads, meats, cheeses, and fresh fruits, everything was top-notch. The ladies managing the buffet were extremely pleasant and accommodating. While the front desk staff was helpful, they lacked a bit of warmness. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely consider returning in the future.

My spouse and I recently spent a weekend in Barcelona before a conference. It was our first time without our children in 8 years. Unfortunately, our hopes for a peaceful night's rest were disrupted by a 1:00 am phone call from the front desk. A staff member asked if we had called them, but after explaining that they had woken us up, all they said was, "Okay, sorry, bye." The next morning, we complained to the front desk and were met with an unfriendly, arrogant manager who claimed to know nothing about the incident but promised to follow up with an explanation. There was no smile, no apology, just a rude and defensive attitude. Upon check-out, I didn't bother to ask, but there was still no explanation or apology.
