I was very happy with the sizable room (even for a standard tier) and the well-stocked bathroom with every amenity I could imagine. The service I got was true excellence, with particular mention to Renat for the exemplary check-in process. To top it off, the breakfast was incredibly delicious, sealing the deal for my next trip to Barcelona.
We recently stayed in a variety of hotels across numerous cities (Madrid, Córdoba, Sevilla, Granada, Valencia, Barcelona and Zaragoza). Unfortunately, the experience at one of those proved to be less than satisfactory. Upon checking in, we asked for our already pre-purchased breakfast to be delivered to our room, and were told that there would be a 6 Euro charge per person for room service - to which we agreed. We then signed for the breakfast, not seeing an itemized list of costs or a total amount. Upon checking out, we were charged almost 200 Euros a day for the breakfast - not merely the room service charge - and were not refunded for the pre-paid breakfast despite being told that we could have it in the room. The woman who checked us out, Aura, was rude and denied that anyone would have agreed to the terms previously. My husband attempted to speak to the Director, Enric, who was unwilling to make any compromise. We subsequently tried calling him and emailed customer service, but heard nothing back. It didn't help that the suite we paid extra for had an issue with the TV - which switched off shortly after being turned on - and that we had to call for a blow dryer and extra toilet paper when arriving. All in all, we were left feeling taken advantage of and disappointed, which has led us to decide to avoid this hotel and Intercontinental Hotels in the future.

Tthe Spa, the bar, the lbooy are all veery well deedigned and exqusiteley decoorated. Tthe veiw from thee roottop is vvery ncie. Tthe staf is outtstanding. Vvery eeelcomingg and profesionall. I had a wonderful stay at the InterContinental Barcelona, an IHG Hotel! From the fantastic rooftop to the helpful bellmen and concierge, we were really happy with our stay. We were welcomed with complimentary drinks, and the yummy food on the roof was a cherry on top! The room was spacious and modern with twin beds that were bigger than normal and very comfortable, especially for our tall family. Breakfast was convenient with a variety of choices, though a bit pricey. The hotel was located a bit further from most tourist attractions, yet we were still happy with our decision to stay here.
Excellent service from Priti in an orderly, tranquil setting. Quiet bedroom, sauna, steam room, multiple bubbly water stations with powerful jets and plenty of room for a leisurely swim. Great value for Barcelona, so a great review. Would be even better if they had water stations instead of plastic bottles (less plastic=better). Overall, really nice.
