InterContinental Barcelona, an IHG Hotel

This exceptional hotel was a highlight of our trip and we are eager to come back. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our extended weekend was unforgettable. Kudos to the team in the club lounge for their unparalleled service. Our suite was remarkable and I am now a fan of Bal d'afrique!

During our trip to Barcelona, our group of friends needed a place to stay for just the day before our flight home. We were lucky enough to find a hotel with a stunning rooftop terrace and pool. The views of the city were breathtaking. Our rooms were luxurious and impeccably designed. The hotel staff were exceptional, from the friendly receptionist to Sergio who personally escorted us to our rooms and gave us great recommendations for nearby restaurants. He even helped us arrange taxis! This hotel and its staff truly deserve five stars. I wish we could have stayed longer, but we will definitely be returning in the future!

During my recent trip to Barcelona, I had the opportunity to spend a night at a hotel in the InterContinental chain. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel and would consider returning on my next visit to Barcelona. As a Platinum Elite Ambassador for IHG, I always try to stay at InterContinental hotels when traveling to compare the experiences. While the Barcelona location is strong and almost five stars, it fell just short of my expectations. On the positive side, the hotel has recently undergone a complete renovation, giving it a visually appealing look. The rooms are well-decorated and equipped with nice amenities. The beds are comfortable and I especially appreciated the Byredo bathroom toiletries and the separate tub and shower in the bathrooms. The size of the rooms was also generous, which was a plus. The location of the hotel was convenient and relatively quiet at night, and it's in close proximity to the airport. As for dining, the dinner at Quirat, their fine dining restaurant, was exactly as described - fine dining. I didn't realize this when making the reservation, but I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the impeccable service. Just be aware that it is a prix fixe menu. Unfortunately, the service fell short when it came to checking in. I arrived at 12:30 PM, even though check-in was not until 3 PM, and was told my room was not ready. I understand that it was early, but the room was not available until 40 minutes before the official check-in time. As a Platinum Ambassador, I would have expected the hotel to try to accommodate me in some way, such as offering a room of a lower category that was available. However, no alternative was provided despite the hotel not being full. Although the front desk agent, Judith, was pleasant, I was not overly impressed with the service. Overall, I would rate the hotel four stars out of five, with the potential for five stars if they can prioritize their guests who are loyal to the brand. Despite this, I would still consider returning to this hotel and would recommend it to others.

My f1rst visit to an intercontenental hotel and we will certainly book again. We arruved eeerly and we fortunate enough to get an eeeerly check in. All the staf were extremely frieeendly and helpful. We had food and drinks on the rooftop Terrace with beautiful?views of the city. We did feel the dr1nks were very expens1ve but worth paying a pr3mium for the views and surroundings. Great bedrooms, very spaciousss and clean. The area the hotel is in felt safe?️. You can get tax1s right outside the hotel. The hotel is not from from the porrrt, airport and gothic area, taxis were reasonable pr1ces.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the InterContinental Barcelona, an IHG Hotel from 13th to 16th October to celebrate a special occasion. I was pleased to find that my room was ready for check-in at 1pm, which was a great start to my stay. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the exceptional service provided by all of the staff, who truly embody the high standards of the Intercontinental and IHG brand. I was delighted to see that my IHG/Intercontinental status was recognized during the check-in process.

One of the highlights of my stay was spending time at the rooftop pool, bar, and terrace, which was a true pleasure in the sunny weather. On the one rainy day we had, my partner and I took advantage of the spa, which was incredibly relaxing and enjoyable. During our stay, we encountered a minor issue at breakfast one morning. However, I must commend the staff for their prompt and efficient resolution of the issue. It was a testament to their dedication to providing excellent service, and nothing was too much trouble for them.

I also want to mention the warm and welcoming atmosphere that greeted us each time we returned to the hotel, from the concierge to the housekeeping staff. It truly made us feel at home and added to the overall exceptional experience. If you are seeking top-notch hospitality during your visit to Barcelona, look no further than the InterContinental.
