InterContinental Barcelona, an IHG Hotel

This hotel exceeded all of my expectations for an IHG property. Our suite was the best room we could have asked for and the restaurants on site were excellent. The staff were extremely attentive and the location couldn't have been more convenient for transportation. The room service was prompt and the lobby and rooms were absolutely beautiful. We were pleasantly surprised by the value for the excellent price.

As a visitor from Australia, my partner and I stayed at this hotel for five days - two prior to our cruise and three after. Despite not being located in the heart of the city, we were content with our decision as we tend to prefer staying away from busy downtown areas. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a spacious one bedroom suite with a luxurious bathroom, lounge area, study space, and a balcony with seating. The room was peaceful, well-furnished, and had everything we needed. The staff were professional and always polite, and the hotel's modern and airy ambiance added to our enjoyment. Taxis were readily available outside the entrance, and we found a nearby bus stop for a quick 15-minute ride to Las Ramblas. Being members, we had access to the exclusive Club Lounge, which provided a variety of beverages and tapas throughout the day. The lounge also offered comfortable seating and a tranquil atmosphere for work or relaxation. The spa facilities were fantastic and provided a much-needed refreshing break at the end of each day. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel to others.

This recently opened hotel in Barcelona exceeded our expectations in every way. The rooms were spacious and the facilities were exquisite, including a lovely terrace, a club lounge, a spa, and a pool. The service was top-notch, making our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast was superb, offering a wide variety of delicious options. The location was also perfect for us, as we were attending a Madonna concert and were able to easily access both the stadium and the city center. We were thoroughly impressed and cannot wait to return.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The hotel's location was fantastic and the recent remodeling added to its charm. The staff were extremely welcoming and always willing to assist in any way necessary. The top floor bar boasted stunning views of the city. Unfortunately, we were out and about for most of our trip so we didn't have the chance to dine at the hotel's restaurants. Thus, I am unable to provide a review of the dining options. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again in the future.

Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the hotel lobby which had a stunning design. However, our stay was marred by a few issues that were quite disappointing, resulting in a 3-star rating. Our allocated room, an executive king, was spacious but had a displeasing odor. After requesting a new room, we were pleased to find a similar layout with a better smell, although it still wasn't entirely pleasant. The hotel's decor is undoubtedly impressive, and we were eager to enjoy its facilities. The spa in the basement was small but perfect for our needs. We used the hydro circuits pool, jacuzzi, and jets, as well as the sauna and steam facilities for an additional cost of 45 euros for about an hour of use. Unfortunately, the spa closed at 8 pm, and we headed to the rooftop bar for dinner. The atmosphere and views of Barcelona were lovely, but our evening did not go as planned. We waited an hour for our starter and main courses, even though the restaurant wasn't too busy. To make matters worse, a family of four who arrived much later than us received their food before us. When our food finally arrived, it was just our main courses, and our starters were nowhere to be seen. We questioned the manager, who admitted to forgetting our order, but made no effort to rectify the situation. The vegetarian dish that was ordered was a huge disappointment, as it did not match the menu's description and lacked flavor. We had to wait another half hour for a new dish, which made our wait time for food an hour and a half or longer. The only saving grace was the kind and apologetic waitress who offered to comp our meal. However, when we received the bill, the manager only offered free drinks, despite initially agreeing to a complimentary meal. His unprofessional behavior and lack of effort to make things right was appalling. My husband ended up eating alone, and my meal was cooked 30 minutes after his. Needless to say, we were still hungry and had to order room service later. Breakfast had a good selection, but the staff seemed stressed, and the communication in English was subpar. Overall, the hotel's location near the museum and Olympic stadium was desirable, but there are better, more centrally located hotels with better service. I would not recommend this hotel to friends.
