I visited Barcelona with a friend and we were recommended to go to Skybar at a certain hotel. The drag show on Thursday (May 18th) was fantastic and Wayuu Queen truly made it an extremely welcoming experience, even singing a song composed by herself. Both that and her manner of making the audience feel included in the show made the evening a great experience! Absolutely recommended and next time I come to BCN, I will undoubtedly be back!
The stay at the Axel Hotel Barcelona & Urban Spa- Adults Only in Barcelona was unfortunately marred by the unpleasant attitude of the front desk staff. The staff acted in a condescending manner, as though they were doing us a favor by allowing us to stay at the hotel. The spa area was a huge disappointment, as it was a very limited space with a non-functioning jacuzzi that was overpriced. We believe that the spa part of the hotel name is misleading, and the overall cost for the stay is far too high in relation to what is offered.
Second stay at this Adults Only hotel. It’s a great place with a great rooftop bar that’s perfect for socializing. The staff here really go the extra mile - Eric and Roberto provided us with lots of helpful advice. It’s also conveniently located near many of the city’s top attractions.
This hotel is in a great spot, but the reception staff were far too curt. It seemed like it was a total inconvenience for them to answer our questions and give recommendations, as if they had a superiority complex. The rooms were quite dark, and the beds were incredibly hard. However, the rooftop bar and the seventh floor bar were nice. Unfortunately, the pool and hot tub were closed for repair, and we were denied access unless we paid a fee. Ultimately, their gruff behavior gave us a bad impression, so we recommend staying elsewhere and finding a hotel that appreciates your business and provides a more welcoming experience.
We stayed at this adults only hotel for 4 nights in April 2023. Eric, on reception, was brilliant and highly attentive when we arrived. Our room was sizable and peaceful and the hotel's position is terrific. I would definitely stay here again.
