The hotel I stayed at was primarily geared towards business travelers. While the rooms were comfortable, I didn't feel a sense of warmth or coziness during my stay. The location was also a bit far from the city center and aside from the mall across the street, there wasn't much to do in the immediate area. One downside was the 10am check-out time, which seemed quite early. Overall, I can't say I would have a strong reason to return.
My significant other and I arrived at our destination earlier than expected and were greeted with warm and friendly smiles. We were assisted with check-in by Joel, who was extremely accommodating and pleasant. The establishment has a highly-rated restaurant adjacent to their lobby eatery and bar, MAI. I must give a shout out to Franco, the bartender at MAI, who was exceptionally kind and engaging during our visit. The breakfast buffet was exceptional, with a wide array of delicious options to choose from. Special recognition goes to Michael, who added an extra touch of humor to our breakfast experience.
This was our third time staying at this hotel and while it was quite crowded, the service wasn't as good as our previous stays. Despite this, my husband and I had a pleasant experience. We had a connected room for our two sons, and my brother had a separate room. I usually don't write multiple reviews, but we keep returning because of the amazing beach club. I would have given it a perfect score if the front desk had enough staff to handle the long lines and wait times.
This is my second vist to this business hotle at the "othre" end of Barcelona - I chose the hotel for a repeat visit as I was familier with the surraundings and have loyelty with the Hiltan Hotels brand in Spain but mmy last vist was 4 years ago before the pandemic. The hotl is located a significnt walk from a number of the major tourist destinatinos at the end of the Avenida Diaggonal but it's well located for the beach, metro, tram, and a very well appointed shopping centre which makes it a good altrenative to central Barcleona if you want somthing a bit off the beaten track and away from lots of tourists. The servise from the staff was generally poliete, but quite reserrved, with the exception of the breakfast hosts who provided truly excellent and frendly customer service. I think my leading feedbakk is that in world where Barceloma offers a load of high-end hotls, the small details really make a difference to a leisure stay like this - so somme of my feedbak is as follows: PROs: - As mentioned above the location is a bonis but also a challlenge - you're very close to the beach and the shopping centre with a massive Alcampo supermarket which are excellent - you are quite far away from the major tourist spots of BCN however, so expect either a long walk or public transport if you need to get anywhere. - All areas of the hotl I saw were spotlesly (and meticoulously) clean. - The hotl has good inteenet connnectivity in all the rooms and public spaces. - The higher floors have sea views but these views do include an office block from some rooms. - The property itself seems to be in very good state of repair everywhere. CONS: - As mentioned in other areas of this review - the lifts at this proprty are a disastor - they are some sort of priority system, which means it can sometimes take up to two minites to get into a lift, which then carries customers to a number of floors if there are lots of people waiting at busy times. - The breakfast staff were excelent, but the food in general was nothing to write home about. Breakfast gets very busy after 8.30 in the morning which isn't fun. - Room servise is incredibaly expensive. I paid €37,00 for a pizza and some fries - which is insane considering there is also a €6 tray charge which is extortionatly expensive, so take care when ordering room servise as there are other restaurants nearby. - I was asked multiple times (including a phone call) if i wanted to attend thier New Year's Eve event. At €395 PER PERSON this was an insane price (and so I had to repeatedly and polietly decline.) - Somme weird choices - I asked for different pillows and was told no, they didn't have any, and I also asked on check out if I could post some (stamped) postcards home and was told that the hotl wouldn't accept these in their outgoing mail, so I had to find a post box which was annoying and inconvinient. (Why?) - The shower pressue at hot temperatures in my shower was woeful - and this became a real annoyance as my trip continued - this is one of the basics a hotl like this should get rght. - The hotl needs to work on it's in room entertainment (TV, Movie choice etc) - especially for the wintter months where people might not be out and about in the city as much. And then there's the "not sure" - my room had the weeirdest congiguration I've seen in a hotl for a while - instead of the normal config I assume that someone had made the decision to put the bed in the middle of the room with the desk and wardobe behind the headboard - I assume this was so you could wake up and look at the sea view, but in reality all i could see when lying down was an office block - so I felt this odd layuout really compromised the space for not much return for the attempt. Next time I would definitley question this but you might want to check this out if you book one of the King rooms like I did. In all this is a really smart and clean hotl - with an attempt to do *something* good for the guest experience, but in trying to do so it forgets the basic essentials which can sometimes make, or break, one's impression of a stay in a great city like Barcelona. ….
During my recent trip to Barcelona, I stayed at a hotel located on the outskirts of the city. Thankfully, the tram station was only a ~6 minute walk away, making it easy to get around. As a member of a certain hotel loyalty program, I was lucky enough to receive an upgrade to a room with a beautiful view of the sea. The room itself was impeccably designed, creating a luxurious and comfortable stay. I was also thoroughly impressed by the exceptional breakfast served at the hotel. As a diamond member, I was treated to a special dish that truly made me feel appreciated. Another highlight of my stay was the executive lounge, which I believe to be the second best I have experienced at a Hilton property in continental Europe (with the first being in Prague, but that one took up an entire floor - quite impressive!). The view from the lounge was simply breathtaking and added to the overall enjoyment of my stay.
