This modern, high-rise hotel gave us an impressive experience. With luxurious bedding and a beautiful bathroom, plus an executive lounge that offers happy hour, it was certainly a comfortable stay. The pool area was stunning with highly-controlled access. As for location, it's within 10 minutes walking of the beach, however, the area is more of a business/industrial district so it doesn't give the typical 'barcelona' feel. There is a mall across the street with restaurants and shopping, but if you're wanting to walk to tourist sites, you'd be better off in a hotel more in the city center. We ended up switching to a Hilton boutique hotel and it worked out wonderfully. All in all, this hotel was great, but if you're looking for a more relaxed, 'beachy' atmosphere, you may want to be mindful of the location. It's definitely worth considering and taxi's are always available.
Stayed at this ? for 3 nights, was on the 20th floor...had to wait on average 20 minutes for the lifts ? - due to problems with an upgrade we had to use the service lifts too ?♀️. Have no idea why the upgrade wasn't tested before being implemented ?, people were getting stuck in the lifts ? - situation was completely out of contol! ?.
if only the billing was sorted out.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to avoid billing nightmares at this hotel. I was charged four times for my check-out bill! Even after numerous calls, emails and messages, the charges still weren't released. The room was a good size for European standards, yet I can't say the extra spend for the King Room, Sea Facing was worth it. Colleagues on lower levels also had good views. The elevator wait times were abysmal, particularly from the 23rd floor. There was an outdoor smoking area which was covered, but in front of the main restaurant/bar. There was an excessive fee to lounge at one side of the pool which closed at 3pm daily - a massive disappointment. Taxis were readily available, but they wouldn't accept my Freenow app request if not to the airport. The Executive Lounge for Honors Members was excellent, but the on-site restaurants and bars were on the expensive side. The nearby shopping centre was a great place to purchase bottled water.
Without a doubt the worst accommodation I have ever stayed in. The lifts are inoperable, so I had to wait half an hour before I was able to reach my room. When we arrived, we found that the beds were not even made! Thin walls without soundproofing meant I could hear anything that was happening outside my room. To top off the whole experience, the place was crawling with Americans. I sincerely hope to put this experience behind me and enjoy the remainder of my trip to Barcelona by staying in a more accommodating hotel.
Our first nights on our first trip to Barcelona. I picked this particular property because I'm a fan of their brand and I'm a Diamond member. It's a little off the main area but there's Metro service which makes it easily accessible. The front desk staff were welcoming and friendly. I couldn't believe the room I was upgraded to - a panorama suite on the 16th floor. It was like three rooms in one, a bedroom, living room and dining room, with a wrap-around view of the sea and city, including La Sagrada Familia. The Executive Lounge each night was a great spot for snacks, beer and serve-yourself cocktails. I had breakfast one morning in the lounge and it was good. The next two mornings I had breakfast in the main breakfast room and it was outstanding! The service was great and the food selection was huge. I was constantly impressed with how hard working and professional the entire staff was. They really went the extra mile at every opportunity to thank me for being a Diamond member. There were also ice and water machines by the elevators, which was a nice touch. If you travel to Barcelona, don't miss out on staying here!
