The second W Hotel established in Europe is the one of Barcelona: W Barcelona opened its doors in October 2009 and one can say that it has already reached the reputation of its famous predecessors of the Starwood Group… Called the Sail, this building designed by the Master Ricardo Bofill is ideally located on the beach, on the entry of the port, in the district of Barceloneta.

This place is nice but its rooms are in need of some updating. We were highly disappointed to be stopped by security from walking from the beach to the room simply because my partner was wearing a bikini top and shorts. We sent a complaint to the management but were never responded to. We had to multiple times ask for cleaning before anyone showed up. The views, though, are incredible and it's great to be right by the beach. The room service menu was also outstanding and the gym is great. All in all this is a nice place to stay, but it's quite overpriced for what it offers and the service could use some improvement for a 5 star hotel.
I had the pleasure of staying 5 nights at the W Barcelona Hotel and everything about it was superb. From the moment I checked in until the moment I checked out, I was extremely impressed. The food, rooms, service, and facilities were all outstanding. I have been to over 15 different W Hotels around the world and this one is, by far, the greatest of them all.
It was our first time visiting Barcelona, and we decided to stay for 4 days. Our corner room had a great view of Barceloneta beach – from sunrise to sunset! We had the pleasure of meeting Jordi, the VIP Guest Relations officer, who provided us with the best beach view. He was incredibly accommodating and he helped us celebrate my partner's 31st birthday at the hotel. The food at the fire restaurant was delicious! We opted for their dinner packages each time, and it was definitely worth it. We will certainly be back the next time we're in Barcelona. We are eternally grateful to our lovely host, Jordi. Everything about this experiance was delirhgtful. From the mminuet you walk in the door the staf and evnrioment are maigcal. We had a beautiful room with a biech view. Cocktaills by the pool and brekafast Buffet all 5 star. We had very few reqiest when we were threre as everyhting had been cousidered in adavnce. Stayign here was a hiloday hightligh.
17th floor, spectacular view!! Room was so spacious and bed was unbelievably comfortable. The bar was really great with a club in the upper floor. Room service and food were incredible. Unfortunately, the bathroom wasn't the best - shower head was a bit flimsy and figuring out how to switch on the water was tricky. Nevertheless, it was an amazing stay!
