If you're on the hunt for a fun spot in Barcelona, this place is the place to be! Their Sunday beach gathering is off the charts with a phenomenal vibe plus top notch tunes. The crew is both welcoming and experienced, providing a totally enjoyable experience. I really suggest giving it a try!
I have been a Marriott Platinum/Titanium member for 9 years (staying at least 50/75 nights each year). This particular hotel was the first one to disappoint me, as I had hoped to celebrate an anniversary here but received no special recognition for my loyalty. Reviews had warned that Marriott members receive no extra benefits, and I should have listened.
I recently had the chance to stay at a hotel in Barcelona. While there were a few pros, the general experience left much to be desired. Here is a review of my stay: Positives: 1. Locale: The hotel was conveniently situated, ideal for visiting Barcelona and the area was lively too. 2. Breakfast: The breakfast offered was satisfying and diverse, and service was good. 3. Design: The hotel boasted a visually impressive architectural design. Negatives: 1. Check-In: The check-in took 45 minutes, which was inconvenient after a long journey. 2. Maintenance: Despite the nice exterior, the building upkeep left much to be desired. Examples included broken blinds with holes visible, holes in the wall near the lift, and the AC breaking down in my room. 3. Basics: My initial room faced the hallway, leading to constant noise from parties until late. After requesting a room change, I was moved to what was said to be a quiet room facing the smaller pool area, however the next day there was a pop up event with a local singer performing until midnight. 4. Service: When seeking assistance from the front office I found them to be uninformed, and requests to speak to the Manager on Duty went unanswered. 5. Amenities: The hotel's additional amenities, such as spa services or dining options, were highly overpriced compared to similar establishments in the area. 6. Pool: The pools were fairly small and always packed. All in all, my experience at the hotel was marred by numerous issues such as a lengthy check-in process, poor building maintenance, disruptive noise, unhelpful staff, inconsistent service, and overpriced amenities. While there were positives such as a good location, decent breakfast, and an iconic building, these were overshadowed by the negatives. I'd suggest exploring other accommodation options in Barcelona ahead of considering this hotel.
This place was ??♂️not for me - it felt too flashy. The service was shockingly bad for a supposed 5-star hotel, having waited until 6 pm to get my room and even then having to go back down to retrieve my luggage myself despite asking several times. ?The concierge wasn't helpful in suggesting places to eat, and the decor was pretty dated. ?The saving grace is the spa which is good, but the pool is too crowded to get any peace. ?This hotel seems like it's trying to be a place to be seen at, but I'd rather keep it on the down-low. ?
The hotel I stayed at had incredible service plus stunning views and luxurious rooms. On top of that, when I realized I'd left my toiletries at home, I simply called the front desk. They were so kind as to ask what I needed and get it all organized for me - talk about turning an otherwise stressful situation into a pleasure! Highly recommended.
