The second W Hotel established in Europe is the one of Barcelona: W Barcelona opened its doors in October 2009 and one can say that it has already reached the reputation of its famous predecessors of the Starwood Group… Called the Sail, this building designed by the Master Ricardo Bofill is ideally located on the beach, on the entry of the port, in the district of Barceloneta.

And 3 hotel bars : Eclipse, W lounge and Wet Bar for a fresh tropical cocktail by the pool.We recommend also Pez Vela restaurant by Tragaluz group.. This property was quite a letdown - attempting to be “too cool” only to fall short. After two months of staying at several hotels in the Marriott family, ranging from Luxury Collection to St. Regis, we can say it was the least value for money. Although it is on the beach, it is a bit removed from the city center. The area it is situated in, Barceloneta, has its charm but five days could be too much. The rooms weren't as comfortable as expected, plus the lighting was difficult to navigate. At $400 per night you’d be better served at another Marriott hotel.
They provide excellent service, but this time around I noticed an unpleasant experience with one of their staff members. The staff member, who had a blondish look to them, was very rude to some people merely because they were not staying at the hotel, but were still eating there and spending money. This does not give a positive image of this luxurious establishment.
I'm delighted to say that my stay at the W Barcelona Hotel in Barcelona lived up to all expectations! From the moment I checked in, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The property is stunning, offering beautiful views of the city and a great range of facilities. The service I received was second to none and reminded me of the high standards of the Westin brand in its heyday. All in all, it was exactly what I hoped for and I'm so glad that I chose this hotel - it's given me a renewed faith in the Bonvoy program!
We reserved a cabana for a hen party celebration on the Wet Deck. The original cabana we had reserved was in the shade, resulting in a cold jacuzzi. However, the team was quick to upgrade us and relocate us to a spot bathed in sunshine. The provided service was impeccable. Every request was met with satisfactory results, and we had an amazing time. Highly recommend.
We had an amazing stay at the W Barcelona. From the stylishly appointed room with a stunning view of the sea as the centerpiece, to the attentive and accommodating staff, this hotel really hit the mark. Plus, it's conveniently located next to the beach and not too far from Las Ramblas and other must-see attractions in the city. We wouldn't hesitate to come back!
