The second W Hotel established in Europe is the one of Barcelona: W Barcelona opened its doors in October 2009 and one can say that it has already reached the reputation of its famous predecessors of the Starwood Group… Called the Sail, this building designed by the Master Ricardo Bofill is ideally located on the beach, on the entry of the port, in the district of Barceloneta.

We had a "fabulous" room with an incredible view, however, the hotel was not as fabulous as we anticipated. The air conditioning was not reliable and the ventilation was poor, making the room smell of air freshener. We both ended up with stomach bugs. Furthermore, the toilet door wouldn't shut and the only shower meant no bath. Breakfast was not of the usual standard expected from a 5-star hotel in Spain, as it felt like an all inclusive holiday resort and the food was unappealing. On the upside, the staff were very kind and obliging. The location was a bit out of the way, so a taxi was needed to get around, however the views were good.
I spent my 40th birthday at one of the cabanas on the wet deck on 4th of June and we were all so very happy and pleased! The staff made our day! They were so helpful and friendly and everything went very smoothly. They even sang for me and gave us a cake.❤️ Thank you so much for being so accommodating and friendly (we didn't expect that at such a place). You made our day so special. Stunnig hottel. Greate servise, very carring staff, qick chech-in. Greate brekfast. Room was very spaecious with a gorgoeus view. Very lrage bahroom. Room was spoltless claean. Highly recomended for coples or bussness.
This hotel provided a truly remarkable experience for my 30th birthday celebration. Despite a challenging journey into Barcelona, we felt immediately welcomed when we arrived at the hotel, thanks to Mercedes at the front desk. She was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable stay. She provided us with a room with an incredible view and even surprised us with two free drinks for my special day. The room was stunning with beautiful décor and modern amenities, and the view of the cityscape of Barcelona was breathtaking. It was incredibly spacious and well-appointed, creating a sense of ease and comfort. We later ventured down to the pool bar, where we were welcomed by the friendly staff, namely Louisa. Louisa was engaging and truly looked after us, taking an interest in our stay and even arranging for a birthday drink, cake, and sparklers to be brought to me by the pool. It was a heartfelt gesture that made my special day even more remarkable. The spa facilities at the hotel were also impressive. They were well-maintained, clean, and provided a tranquil environment to unwind and relax. The spa staff attended to all our needs, leaving us feeling pampered and well taken care of. We also dined at the Fire restaurant, where the steak was cooked to perfection and the cocktails had unique and tasty flavours. In conclusion, this hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. We can't fault a single thing about our experience, and we eagerly look forward to returning during the summer. The incredible customer service, luxurious accommodations, and high-quality amenities make it one of the best places we have ever stayed!
I was in need of a good drink and I found this place! I’d been wanting to try out this hotel for a while as I saw it on Instagram and it didn’t disappoint. We ordered some drinks and food to share and I was delighted! The atmosphere was amazing and the vibe was great too!.
