Colón Hotel Barcelona

The hotel lobby and restaurant make for a wonderful atmosphere. The front desk staff were helpful, however, certain staff members could have been more polite. Unfortunately, the room was small for the cost and was not air conditioned in February, which was a bummer for me with asthma. We were lucky enough to get an upgrade room with a Cathedral view, however, noise from the restaurant and bars below were quite loud the first night. The hotel lacked a bar area, and the rooftop terrace was indeed a bit cramped and lacking in service - probably due to being understaffed. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay.

The Colón Hotel Barcelona was truly an experience to behold! The elegance was present throughout the hotel and the staff were absolutely outstanding; each one was attentive and hospitable. The room was peaceful and luxurious - it was the perfect place to relax. Moreover, its central location in the large Placa Catalunya made it ideal for discovering new attractions and restaurants. Lastly, the breakfast was a memorable feast with such an array of culinary options; it was perfectly put together and delicious! We were so pleased with the stay and we sincerely thank all the staff who made it so enjoyable.

We had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Colón during our visit to Barcelona and it truly was an amazing experience. The location was absolutely perfect and convenient for sightseeing, dining and shopping, with the beach in close proximity as well. The hotel was great, our room was quite, clean and spacious with plenty of storage space. The staff was always very helpful, accommodating our every need. The only downside was that I couldn't figure out how to get the TV working but I was so exhausted after sightseeing that I never asked the front desk about it. Breakfast was delicious every morning with a lot of different varieties to choose from. All in all, we had an amazing experience at Hotel Colón and would definitely stay there again during our next visit to Barcelona!

AVOID this place. I stayed at the Colón Hotel Barcelona and would definitely advise avoiding it! We had booked an upgrade room with a view of the cathedral across the street, but instead there was a huge Samsung sign blocking the view, and the netting all over the spires of the church was an eyesore. On top of that, the area outside was very noisy until the early hours of the morning. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, hard and sprung and the furniture and carpets were old, worn and dated. The bathroom shower was laughable. There was no shower door or curtain, just a partial glass block wall and water spray everywhere, leaving the floor soaked. When we checked in, the carpet outside the bathroom was wet from a prior guest. I had to call for housekeeping to bring towels to soak up the water and when I tried to complain to the manager in the morning, there was no manager on duty. And after writing the hotel when I returned home, there was no response. So, please do yourself a favour, and avoid this place.
