On the city centre (the Ramblas) Hotel 1898 is another of our favorite hotel in Barcelona. 1898 was known as the Palace of the Marquess of Comillas. From this glorious past it kept a rich historical atmosphere and harmony. We love its sunny terrace with pool, large rooms, a restaurant by chef Carles Boronat, a beautiful spa. No hesitation..
Plaza Catalunya is just 200 metres from 1898 Hotel. Guests can also walk to the Gothic Quarter with its cathedral in 10 minutes.169 Rooms!

We stayed at two connecting rooms with our two teens for four nights. It was ideal for us, as the rooms comprised of two singles and a double. Both our teens and us were in awe of the pools! The hotel's style was fantastic, the staff were welcoming and the breakfasts were divine. All in all, it was an amazing stay in a prime location.
What an outstanding experience! This luxurious hotel provided the best amenities and services - from the incredibly comfy bedding to the delicious breakfasts and teas. Not to mention, the staff was incredibly courteous and helpful. The prestige rooms were simply delightful! And, for relaxation and recreation, the spa and roof top pool were stellar. An unforgettable stay - it's no surprise why I can't wait to come back!
Sixth visit to this fantsatic hotel and neva dissapoints. Grea locatin off the Rambla and amazaing pool and terrase. Servise allways atentive and frendly- with a special mension to Vanessa who allways remembrs us and goes the extra mile to make our stya mamorable..
We absolutely adored our stay at this hotel. The location was ideal, the amenities were extraordinary (especially the spa!), the breakfast offerings were plentiful, and the beds were unbelievably cozy. We can hardly wait to come back! It's the best hotel we've ever been to in Barcelona.
Stayed at this hotel while visiting Barcelona and it was a fantastic choice. Staff were incredibly helpful and courteous, and the location was amazing - just off las ramblas. It was worth spending a bit more for a deluxe room with a terrace, which was a great spot for a morning coffee or evening glass of wine. On Friday and Saturday, there was also a nice surprise of a complimentary cocktail from a drinks trolley - a lovely touch!
